I'm starting this first one but hoping that when a thread looks close to ending another thread member can set the next one up. This is not working out so well. 😂

To avoid duplicate threads please try to post in the thread that's ending to alert everyone you're setting up a new one.

Other members check who was first to offer and whether a new one is live.
It might be an idea to keep a list of advents that are live in the OP and later on which are sold out. This can be copy/pasted/edited when a new thread is started.

This is really nice. I’ve not used any of their products but do recall buying a hand cream set to put away as a gift for this Christmas

I loved Lewis’s in Manchester when I was a child. I loved going to see Father Christmas there. I also have a random memory of my siblings and I chasing each other and hiding in the clothes rails, then me panicking because no one found me 😅

I also loved Debenhams. Such a shame these department stores are long gone now.

When I took DS to see Father Christmas it was such a different experience, not nearly as magical. I first took him to a big grotto in Manchester arndale but I wasn’t wowed by it, and we tried a few others like on farms where you got a breakfast too. Just wasn’t the same vibe. The novelty wore off for DS at a very young age.

I do miss a good department store. Very envious of those of you with them! Was it Brown Thomas we were lusting after last year? And one beginning with J, but it had dreadful packaging.

Jarrolds had the cereal box outer and I’m all up for a day trip to Brown Thomas if the calendar is good this year.

Look Fantastic fragrance last year provided some real gems. I wasn't expect to love Alia Main Character is much - it's perfect for the summer. And the main event - Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea salt is one of my favourites so it was no brainer. I need to stay away from here when the Harrods is out as it's really not one that will suit me and I don't want to get it if fear of missing out hits

We had a Lewis’s in my town- it closed decades ago 😿

I have a tiny picture in one of those keyrings you have to look through to see the slide, of me and my brother in Lewis’s on Batman and Robin’s knees respectively, both wrapped up in winter woollies and reins. I remember it well - my little brother was terrified and yelling so I turned to Batman saying loftily: ‘Ignore him, he’s just a baby’ …I was almost three 😹

This was my first ever beauty advent in 2019 I think. I then got Liberty in 2020 and it all got a lot more expensive from there. I love WM prints.

I’m off to do some scent sniffing with DS this weekend, so I can decide what’s likely to be my best AC purchase/s. I went in blind with the Harrods scent tote so I need to test those as well.

I recall someone mentioning how they had gone nose blind after checking so many scents but forgot to say at the time about the coffee beans, in case it’s not a known thing. Most shops have little pots of coffee beans near the fragrances for you to sniff between scents; they basically do what lemons do to your palate.

I had another notification from Harrods this morning. I’m not sure my nerves can take much more 😅

Also, I had a Harrods FAC dream last night (must have been from reading @Addictedtobeauty post). It wasn’t announced but I happened to check and they were available so I quickly went to purchase, but I accidentally added the hair & body one, then panicked and had to go back to add the FAC, I was practically shaking thinking I was too late, but it added and took me to payment page. I was then about to process the payment and I was disturbed from my dream by DH getting up, so I don’t even know whether I would have been successful or not 🙈😅

@Thelifeofawife me too. I went in the shower and got ready. Came back to my phone, saw a notification and went into a mild panic. I think Monday is the earliest it will drop but it appears my brain is on high alert. 😂

Will the Harrods beauty be as popular ? Last year year I think I purchased late October - not sure if that’s unusual or not?

@SummerLimes It’s sold out quickly some years but last year it hung around for a while. I bought it early as didn’t want to miss out. They ended up offering 10% off, and I think it was at that point that it sold out.

I’ve never had an AC of any description (different religion/culture), and although there’s no reason really not to get involved, I think dh would give me quite a funny look 🤣

For this year I’m telling myself that I’m just going to watch and learn, as I can see that it would be huge fun and also really good value, but I’m a total sucker for a beauty offer and get awful fomo so I suspect I’ll crumble pretty early. Plenty of places to hide things from DH around the house, anyway 😉

It sold out really quickly in 2024 (I think before the end of September) but it was a really good calendar. Last year it hung around a little longer but some people weren’t impressed with the small sizes in the 2025 calendar. I think this year’s looks more impressive than last year so might sell out quicker.

I'm so ready for advent season that I got overexcited this morning and decided to open my Lumene calendar. I was saving it for my birthday month, October, but I need a new night cream and there's one in there somewhere. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! 😂

I think it kept coming back into stock last year. My mum bought the 2024 one on 14th Oct (I remember the date as we'd been to London for the day and she ordered it on the train ride home after a few bottles of wine 🤣). Last year it had sold out before then so she was relieved that she'd ordered it slightly earlier.

I'm so impatient. We get spoilt on the days where a load of new reveals drop from nowhere. I want all the information on all of them now dammit. 😂

Hello! I have been following along these threads and really enjoying them.

I'm a noob to advent calendars so don't really know what I'm doing. I had the M and S one last year as my first one and really enjoyed the threads.

I am thinking perhaps Space NK as a treat this year (will wait for reveal) and then perhaps some of the cheaper ones as a bit of January and February cheer.

OK beauty priority list open , I got this Kat year as part of one. Made up for my mum . I thought it was good value . Depends what in it this year but I think I’m going to give it a miss . I’m pinning my hopes on SNK 😬

I’m also looking forward to seeing the Sephora UK one. It’s looked pretty good in previous years, particularly I think two (maybe three) years ago. Whenever the first year they did one after taking over the Feel Unique (RIP) site was.
