Body lotion that’s not greasy that’s perfect for summer.

I usually use Cerave Ceramide body lotion, it’s great works but is utterly joyless.

My luxury is the L’Occitane almond body cream or their tubs of Shea butter. Too heavy for summer.

I need something light enough to not be greasy but nourishing enough to stop the dryness and if it could make my almost 50yr old skin feel like I’m 35 again I’ll take it!

Not palmers coco butter, I can’t stand the smell.

Neutrogena

I use Soap and Glory body butter. Goes on damp skin and just melts in, no greasy residue and has a lovely light scent.

Vaseline essential (yellow) or aloe (green)

mimiasovitch · 09/06/2026 08:20

The L’Occitane almond body cream in the glass jar is lighter than the one in the tin, if thats the one you’ve used.

I have the glass jar one, I keep it for winter because the refills are so expensive. I do love it though!

I like the yellow Vaseline intensive care one

aveeno do a nice spray oil too which is quite light

Anotherdayanothernight · 09/06/2026 08:41

I really like Garnier body superfood avocado, not heavy at all, smells nice and excellent value

Shinyandnew1 · 09/06/2026 08:44

Vaseline green spray is lovely. So is the sanctuary spa one that you put on straight after a shower and don’t have to Ruby it in!

ijustwanttoworkout · 09/06/2026 08:46

Aveeno skin relief

WildFlowerBees · 09/06/2026 08:59

Is the Vaseline spray hydrating enough? I’m waiting for my frozen shoulder to thaw so a spray would be good.

You can try a lightweight lotion-emulsion texture for summer rather than a thick body butter. check ingredients like glycerin, squalane, oat, ceramides, or lightweight plant oils in the formula.

Sunnyyetnotsunny · 09/06/2026 12:32

Aveeno. Only one DH can use because he hates heavy residue, especially on his hands

67eleven · 09/06/2026 15:51

That L'Occitane almond body cream is gorgeous! I'd carry on using it and put it on soaking wet skin straight from the bath or shower, you'll use a fraction of it and your skin won't feel smothered. I'm losing weight and trying to encourage skin elasticity so I'm using Weleda stretch mark body butter straight onto wet skin, otherwise it would be to heavy and claggy.

Or use a body gel, maybe something like SBC Collagen Gel.

Or a body serum, I'm tempted by Boots Vitamin C brightening body serum which is only £4.00

HoldMyWine · 09/06/2026 15:52

Nivea q10

Britpopbaby · 10/06/2026 17:53

You could try the Vaseline spray ones

deeahgwitch · 10/06/2026 18:03

I didn’t like the scents of the Vaseline Gluta- Hya. There were 3 iirc.
I love Palmer’s Coconut Body Lotion, Aveeno Cream to Oil and Aldi’s dupe of L’Occitane Almond body lotion. But it doesn’t sink in fast.
Garnier Vitamin C Body Superfood in Mango is gorgeous too.

FreddysFingers · 10/06/2026 18:08

Garnier Body Tonic

Vaseline Gluta Hya.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 10/06/2026 18:47

What about body oil? Nuxe do one. It’s nice.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 10/06/2026 18:51

The only one I really like is a French brand I was bought as a present last summer or summer before. If I remember to get it from upstairs I’ll post it here.

mrspk · 10/06/2026 18:58

I like the Byoma body lotions, large bottle with a convenient pump, sinks in easily
