It is. But imagine Margaret having a MIL that incredibly beautiful. I'd have felt quite intimidated. The press of the day said she'd married beneath her, so I'd imagined he had a very different background.

I doubt Margaret was intimidated. She was very beautiful. She also had some gorgeous jewellery

Margaret was hardly a troll herself so I'm sure she would've been fine!

gingercat02 · 03/07/2026 13:51

I don't think Margaret was as confident when she was young, I think a difficult marriage and age toughened her up. She was very pretty and loved her jewellery all the same.

justasking111 · 03/07/2026 13:51

Tony used to insult her terribly though about her appearance. Seeing his mother, who wasn't a great parent btw. Can suck away your self esteem.

It's a complicated story, and it was a fairly toxic marriage
Margaret wasn't necessarily the innocent party.

Margaret was very pretty when she was young. She was very glamorous in middle age.

I think it’s lovely that Sarah Chatho seems to have a good marriage and family. I hope i haven’t jinxed it.
Her childhood can’t have been great if the stories about her parents together are anything to go by.
Anthony’s father was not the Earl of Rosse. Anne got her title from her 2nd marriage.
Her brother was the famous set designer Oliver Messel so the artistic / creative gene is there.

I love that red on Max, she looks great. She's gone for a bit of a pared down look. Leti's bracelets! Fabulous. I like her dress, I think it's a tiny bit big, but she looks nice.

Felipe in a double breasted jacket, but we can forgive him.

Leti’s hair looks amazing there.

deeahgwitch · 04/07/2026 09:00

I love Let’s outfit.

Eaumyword · 04/07/2026 16:08

Leti looking good and love Max's red outfit. A gorgeous jewel shade, reminds me of garnet.

Caroline is as elegant as ever, and I really like that she's letting her hair go grey. Lovely combination of the white shirt and bright yellow trousers. I'm not so keen on Charlotte's dress, but she carries it off.

Sophie in her trusty espadrilles!

Also interesting that Louise did her DofE gold at university rather than school. Nice to show that it's available up till you're 25, I think

And I love Letizia's black dress too, though I'd ditch the bows. https://www.hola.com/us/royals/20260703910762/queen-letizia-favorite-dress-royal-heirloom-jewels/

My mother had dresses like this in the late fifties the full skirt achieved with petticoats under the taffeta. I was allowed to wear the petticoats occas and thought myself a Disney princess.

DS and friends were at university before they completed the gold DofE. Their school always acknowledged it in school news.
