Another t-shirt thread (for the middle-aged and large of boob)

FreeeeeeeeFreeFalling · 30/05/2026 22:13

Hello.

I'm so fed up with buying slightly shit t-shirts.

If you have large boobs so can't do anything completely unfitted, but don't want to wear tight t-shirts (which used to be my go-to when young) any more, what do you wear?

I think I like this (I think) from Lands End Women's Cap Sleeve V-Neck Supima T-Shirt | Lands' End and have ordered to try it.

Basically, my aim is to minimise the top.

Anyone got any more links/tips?

I like these from Next, I've got several in different colours.

Have you tried men’s? I like them as the sleeves come a bit further down rather than the worst part of my arms. They’re also longer. You don’t need to go oversized either. Worth trying a few on.

TheOGCCL · 30/05/2026 23:05

I'm both and quite like these especially the colour range as I don't wear black or white.

They are thin so drape nicely and don't make me look like a block. I do size down as they are large.

Blarn · 30/05/2026 23:39

I love these from h&m. I have a large chest and a little but of a tummy and thet just sit really nicely, neither boxy nor clingy. The website says to size up but I don't find them particularly small.

I have a few next tops like that and they're great! You can get v neck ones too, and longline.

Interesting. I have never tried this (other than wearing DH's, which don't fit me)... thank you.

No, ne neither! I brought one last year as I liked the material as was amazed at how flattering I found them. I think I have about 6 now!

These look lovely. How thick are they please? Could you get away with wearing a dark bra under them without a strap top?

Aparecium · 31/05/2026 09:21

I have various iterations of the Lands End Cotton Modal Scoop Neck T-shirt. Over the years they have been anything from nearly 100% modal (excellent for a pyjama or a very lightweight top) to nearly 100% cotton. They’re comfortable and flattering, giving a bit of shape to the bust and draping well over the hips. You don’t get that shapeless log effect that a standard, boxy t-shirt gives. And they wash well, they don’t shrink or fade.

FluffyMcFluffFace · 31/05/2026 13:54

Another vote for the Next ones. I have a lot of the V neck ones, as I can't wear anything higher up (also bigger bust.) I would however recommend the cotton cap sleeve ones as opposed to the non cotton ones (can't remember what they're made of, but they feel nice) as when you wash them they twist and are a bit of a nightmare. The cotton ones are really comfortable and wash and wear well. And they are a decent price with lots of different colours.

MerylSqueak · 31/05/2026 14:02

I have this Next one also in a few colours . It's become a bit of a thing at work: one person started it off, the next person said, "oo I like your t-shirt" and so on. We're falling like dominos.

I'm a 14, 32G bra and i have the medium.

I have several t shirts from Fairlie Curved which are designed especially for the bigger boobed

I think that cap sleeves and sleeves that end at the boat line can make you look a lot wider. M n S have some boat/slash neck t shirts that are not tight with sleeves that are elbow length. They’re very flattering on bigger busts.

I'm not sure sorry - I bought a few but haven't worn them yet!

I've just bought a pile of these for the summer and I'm really impressed for the price. They're flattering and good enough cotton.

ObsessiveGoogler · 31/05/2026 16:20

I have large boobs and find the Nellie Notch necks from White Stuff really flattering (and to be honest I don't find much flattering these days). They have been going for several years so you can find different plain colours and designs on Vinted too. You can size up and wear them baggy or size down a bit for a more fitted look. DandelionClockSeeds · 31/05/2026 16:42

I got those crew clothing ones delivered earlier this week. They are decently opaque without being too thick, iyswim.

I also gave the next cap sleeved ones - and didn't go for more as they are quite wide at the bottom so I've started tucking them in.

Yellowsubmarine55 · 31/05/2026 16:45

The next ones suggested up thread or urban classics on Amazon are fantastic.

Do you have a link to these? I have recently bought some of the Next ones linked above which are lovely for summer but elbow length would be handy for colder months!
