I am starting a fashion business. Can you tell me which of 3 green colour you prefer for a maxi dress, and if possible why you prefer it? It’s for one of my dresses. I would be grateful ☺️

I think a Sage green is generally more universally flattering to most skin tones

OtterandaRock · 25/05/2026 01:04

Lime green and pipe or trim with a vivid royal blue or a chalky pale blue.

It is fresh and not too much like a tasteful upholstery shade.

OtterandaRock · 25/05/2026 01:05

Lime green with flamingo pink and distressed silver.

SleepingStandingUp · 25/05/2026 01:44

I had a gorgeous strappy maxi in limish green with pink accents. Loved it. But mid green is probably safesy

Whataflippincircus · 25/05/2026 01:47

The lime green. It’s lovely and summery.

MeltyMomenrs · 25/05/2026 02:08

personslky, the middle one/one on the right.

The dark one is too wintry & the lime just makes me look ill, but it appears most would prefer it.

mathanxiety · 25/05/2026 03:07

All of the greens have a yellow tone. I couldn't wear any of them.

SammyScrounge · 25/05/2026 03:11

Lime green is.lovely.
The other two greens are nice but too dark for the amount of material in a maxi.

Same.

That’s ok then, the dress isn’t for you.

Maraudingmarauders · 25/05/2026 06:18

Definitely top centre for me. I’m always looking for nice rich green dresses, too often they’re a lighter or insipid shade. I wouldn’t touch lime green as I don’t like the colour and it doesn’t suit me. The one in the right is okay but doesn’t have the warmth or oomph of the centre.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 25/05/2026 07:09

I’m autumn colouring and wear a lot of green but probably couldn’t wear any of those shades. Maybe the top one but I think it’s probably still too bright and yellowy for me

What a passive aggressive response, the OP clearly asked people to provide reasons why they would or wouldn’t choose these colours

SuperSange · 25/05/2026 07:33

Same, I couldn’t wear any of them. Wrong colouring.

pilates · 25/05/2026 07:34

Option 2

FruAashild · 25/05/2026 07:53

Of those three the darkest one, the other two are too yellow and would make me look ill. Depends what the other colours are of course, if you have a blue option that's always going to be my first choice and red would also be preferable (for me) to those three greens. I do love green though.

VintageLane · 25/05/2026 07:54

None of those shades would suit me.

Wickedlittledancer · 25/05/2026 07:55

The one on the right hand side number 2? It’s softer and more wearable. The one on the left, the pale one is awful,

FrenchBunionSoup · 25/05/2026 07:56

I also couldn't wear any of them because I am very cool-toned. Emerald green would be good for me.

Leaving that aside, I probably like the lightest colour even though it wouldn't like me!

RampantIvy · 25/05/2026 07:56

Lime green doesn't suit most people IMO.
As a jewel winter none of those greens would suit me. Emerald green is my colour though.

Nottopanic · 25/05/2026 07:56

I wouldn’t suit any of those. The darkest one is best. The yellow-lime one is awful.

MyDogClive · 25/05/2026 08:01

I would also go for the darker of the 3, but along with previous posters, I prefer greens with less yellow in. I more or less lived in an emerald green sun dress last year as it was a strong enough colour to wear on days when the weather couldn’t make up its mind.

Same here, but on others I'd choose the lime one, it is a gorgeous colour and very summery. I need a more blue or grey toned green.

The whole point of the thread is to find out what people would or wouldn't wear. The pp is literally answering the question the op asked. What a fucking stupid comment.

Didimum · 25/05/2026 08:13

None of them are great. They are all very acidic, which is generally not a crowd pleaser and will only suit a small range of people. If you’re just starting out I would opt for tones of colours that have a broader appeal.
