Low-key wedding dress ideas/Roland Mouret sizing

I’ve started looking for a wedding dress - not booked yet but very, very low key next year - 2nd marriage for us both and likely a family meal and night in a hotel for us.

I’m 45, 5ft6, hourglass size 14, grey hair and olive skin/brown eyes. Suit bodycon (appreciate not in fashion rn!), midi or maxi length and like structured, modern looks. Ideally sleeves or shoulders covered, though could add a caplet or similar if sleeveless.

I found this Roland Mouret which is a bargain, and assume I would need to size up to a 16?

Or if anyone has other dresses/designers to suggest -
My budget is around 1k (my dream would be this 5k Vivienne Westwood or this). The only other I have liked online is this (bit ott)

I think the Roland Mouret is by far the nicest of the 3 - go for it!

Sorry I don’t know anything about sizing for Roland Mouret, but could you order the 14 and 16 to try on?

I've bought both a Roland Mouret and a Solace London dress in the past year, and I think the Mouret is a much better buy. The one I bought ran pretty true to size, but it was strapless and had quite a bit of internal corseting.

Ahh good to know - this one also has internal structure I think - very excited to see how it looks. Will post a pic if it fits, thanks everyone.

That is a great dress - lovely fabric mix and such a cunning shape. A real bargain.

(Obviously you’ll know very soon if it fits - but don’t people generally lose weight in the run-up to a wedding, simply through the stress of anticipation and preparation? They still have the 14, or you could have the 16 tailored if that works better.)

Oh thank you all - resoundingly positive about the RM dress! I like that it’s wool/silk rather than polyester. Can’t wait to try it on.

@Perfidia agree - my size is pretty stable but I have no doubt that it would be unwise to size down!

Love the RM dress @Levithecat definitely look for wedding shoes now too as from experience I can tell you they tend to sell out at this time of year and beyond July they are quite tricky to find. Hope you have a wonderful day!
