I love this so much, but, a) don't need it, b) have a bit of a tummy, c) would need to get a low-back bra, so I think there is no point in even trying. But maybe one of you have the right occasion and figure for it so that I can take vicarious pleasure from someone else wearing it?

What do you love about it? I think it looks very dowdy, particularly with the flip flops the model is wearing. It's a really unflattering length for most people, including the woman modelling the dress.

LameStrangeNameChange · 08/05/2026 11:21

Oh I love it. It’s probably the wrong length for me, but I love it.

Pinkywoo · 08/05/2026 11:26

I love it but also have too much of a tummy for it, why on earth they put flip flops with it though I do not know!

StationJack · 08/05/2026 11:26

Buy it @OhBuggerandArse .

MegMortimer · 08/05/2026 11:29

I love it on the model.

I think it would be good with some slightly Japanese-looking wedge sandals. But still not on me!

I love it! Especially after I realised it is a viscose linen mix and not polyester, as I'd assumed.

However I don't understand the sizing? It appears to be made for small pear shaped women only, if you look at the size chart. The XL has apparently a 31 inch chest, 24 inch waist and 39 inch hips. I might have tried it on otherwise!

I can't be bothered with weird invisible bras anymore, they never give a nice shape and I don't like padding. I'd wear a neon crop top underneath and accept that I wasn't going to run anywhere for the evening.

When I look at it it says 39, 31, 49. For the xl.

Oh give over. Just buy it.

henlake7 · 08/05/2026 13:38

Not a fan of the length and Im def too lumpy to make it work but I agree it would look great on the right person.

I assumed that was the flat measurement in cm? When you toggle to the other option, the numbers are (approx) 15, 12, 19 which I took to be flat in inches?

Either way it's too small for me, sadly.

InconvenientlyMaterial · 08/05/2026 15:14

Am I alone in thinking you don't need a perfectly flat stomach in this style? Leaving aside the fact the XL is seemingly a 12 at most (unless I've misunderstood the sizing) I think the actual cut of the dress could look good on a curvy figure.

JaneJeffer · 08/05/2026 15:24

I don’t think that material would be good for the bumps and lumps

Applepe · 08/05/2026 15:27

Each to their own, I suppose, but it looks very dull and frumpy to me. Even worse when paired with flat shoes.

Deadringer · 08/05/2026 15:28

Its dull imo. If it was a little longer it wouldn't look amiss in Gilead.

A 31 inch chest is a large?! Bloody hell, no point in my even looking at it, not that it would suit my meno belly and big boobs. Who does Zara make clothes for?!

Edited

The Zara site has a thingy for working out which size to buy. The XL will probably be about a 16.

Not my taste either for the same reasons. But everyone is thankfully different and as the saying goes 'the customer is always right in matters of taste'

ERthree · 08/05/2026 16:04

Nothing lovely about it.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 08/05/2026 18:02

I love it, especially the colour but I think it would look better on someone slim without a large chest (not me!).

I agree

mmmarmalade · 08/05/2026 18:14

How disappointing! I was expecting something that had that drop-dress gorgeous look - not the I-made-it-myself-from-a-pattern look!

BasiliskStare · 08/05/2026 18:14

I like it. Nowhere to wear it but I like it. Not sure the shoes would be my choice but I can see where you're going @OhBuggerandArse

childoftkty · 08/05/2026 18:21

There’s literally nothing lovely about it

ForCosyLion · 08/05/2026 18:24

I agree it's too dowdy. High necklines combined with full-length sleeves and a dark fabric has that effect. It needs bracelet-length sleeves or a scoop neck. Doesn't have to be low. But fabric up to the chin and down to the hands is very nun-like, unless it's a mini dress. There's no balance.
