What jackets are we wearing with barrel legged jeans?

Surprised myself to have bought some barrel jeans today and how much they suit me. I’m good for tops but wondering what jackets you wear with yours?

I can’t bring myself to do double denim.

@ConfusedHappy agree they need to hit the ankle so a little shorter than you’d wear other styles. You can also wear them cropped; I’ve seen them styled like that and might work if you’re shorter.

I do like this and the quilted one shared by @LifeBeginsToday - don’t want to spend as much as the Farm Rio one but I will explore similar styles :)

Except if you’re a size 6 or 8 it already has…

@SoScarletItWas there are plenty of cheaper options, look on Vinted too I have an unfortunate addiction to Farm Rio 😰

Barrel leg is a catch all term, some are extreme, Sainsbury’s less so

I find these all a little slouchy, I like a bit more structure, although there’s nothing wrong with them and I’m sure they’d all work!

Sailors would wear very wide leg or bell bottoms, anyway. At least, my 1930s style House of Foxy ones are super wide and ne’er a barrel in sight.

I actually think its more surprising how many of us said this when they first came out and are now complete converts!
I did think they were abit silly looking at first but now I just love the shape. I love anything that can look cool and also slouchy and casual too (I get fed up of over 50 influencers telling me I have to be all classic and timeless.....yuk!😆).

Sailor trousers

The Tu photos annoy me as the models always have their arms wrapped round themselves . I need to see the whole clothing item, not try and guess what's behind their arms !

M&S models do the sprawl on a chair or the extra long step walk though .

Ah, well that's clearly lost on me then! I am completely immune to FOMO.
