What jackets are we wearing with barrel legged jeans?

Surprised myself to have bought some barrel jeans today and how much they suit me. I’m good for tops but wondering what jackets you wear with yours?

I can’t bring myself to do double denim.

Off topic but does it drive anyone else MAD on the M& S website that every time you click on an item a stupid pop up comes up telling you how many other people are looking at it?

It literally covers up the photo and you have to close it just to see the item!

Rapanui's shackets are my favourite with barrel leg jeans. I have them in black and khaki, but I'd love the blue and citrus too.

I am loving a gilet at the moment. I have a smarter padded one and a more outdoorsy puffer one. I am finding they go with all different styles of jeans and so practical.

I agree with the short boxy vibe. Just bought a lovely denim jacket (similar to PPs rapanui shacket) from Primark. Great for a cheaper option as it's only £16 and comes in 5 colours.
I got the light denim for summer but I'm tempted to get the black as well for cooler weather.

I’m 5’ 9-10 and short jackets are good for me. My torso isn’t the longest though. All my height is in my pins.

I have a cropped trench. It does not work! Maybe not short enough…

I absolutely cackled with laughter at “I am loving a gilet at the moment.” If you watch James Martin Saturday Mornings, he’d been rocking a gilet for a few weeks, and I was wondering if the gilet would return yesterday. It did not, but I just thought for a split second, “What if this is James Martin’s secret MN account??” and had a big laugh.

I have a long torso/short legs and find shorter or even slightly cropped tops and jackets give the impression of a shorter body. I like them.

For barrel leg I’d choose a boxy jacket, not a bomber as then I think the overall shape would be too out-in-out-in. Bomber is for wide leg jeans.

Im more an apple shape, 5ft 6, more weight on stomach. Would barrel suit me?

@ConfusedHappy barrel legs seem to suit lots of shapes and I think they do give you curves if you are more straight or apple shaped (although it depends how you feel about really baggy trousers!).
I think short ladies can struggle with them. If they bunch at the bottom they just look too big and in general can make you look shorter (like you are playing dress up!).

I’m tall but with a short torso so cropped jackets emphasis my lack of torso. I find a slightly longer jacket works better.

I have a nice padded lightweight one from Zara & a quilted floral one from Farm Rio (which means I can’t afford anymore!)

In cold weather I wear with my North Face puffer jacket. I also have a cropped boxy fit suede brown jacket that goes well with them.
