Lovely new niche scented thread ready for our April box.

I suppose curating the BD is a tricky task sometimes. I'm mostly happy to see AB and Sisley minis in a box but there will be plenty of other people groaning at more AB.

I'd like more make up items - a mascara or a lip liner etc. but again non make up wearers would hate that.

More PK Elasticizer is not the answer though. 😂

GrumpyCowBag · 16/04/2026 22:31

Got my beauty drop but am stupidly disappointed that I didn’t get one of the explanatory booklets!!! I keep them to refer to in the future when I want to buy products! Messaged them to say I hadn’t received one and they just replied sorry, we don’t have any more, you can look online. Pffft

BakeOffRewatch · 16/04/2026 22:37

That’s interesting @JoRaRaRa and @OvaHere , those are certainly £££ products from Sisley and Augustinus Bader, but the Beauty Drop box samples just have me going “oh look a very tiny tube that is a pain to open, squeeze out and use, way too small for me to decide whether to repurchase and too expensive for me to commit to a full size”. I really need 30ml minimum, perhaps 15ml if it’s a sheer product that goes far, to drive on something and start to enjoy it as part of my routine. Never mind the tiny little writing and fiddly caps. I really hate the shower gel samples with little screw lids too, looking at you Malin and Goetz, how are those practical in the shower!

I didn’t get one this time either @GrumpyCowBag

🤣 That's true. People do moan about AB. I'd also love a bit of makeup in there. I've asked for a shimmer body oil in the next box, I would've said lip gloss or highlighter but I think that's going too far. Actually, since I started with the box, I don't think I've had a shower gel type thing, do they ever do that?
No, most people have tried pk elasticizer and a lot have a stash already, there's no need to include it. It's meant to be a box to try out new products. Hopefully they'll take on board our feedback 🥰

IlovePond · 16/04/2026 22:44

I’ve just opened my GA hand cream to try. It certainly has a weird, rather unpleasant scent, but I can smell the orange peel. It doesn’t feel or look particularly runny or off, I just don’t think it’s very nice.

I will use it, but without enthusiasm!

Addictedtobeauty · 16/04/2026 22:49

I put my favourite brands as Irene Forte and Lisa Eldridge and my favourite BD product the Liberty liquid eye patch (that never appeared as a real life product afterwards).

let’s see what the next quarter brings.

OvaHere · 16/04/2026 22:49

@BakeOffRewatch I agree anything mini that's hard to open in the shower is a big no.

We have given the same feedback in previous surveys though. I think they're more likely to use the info to inform edits. advents and introducing new brands instore than radically change the BD.

awfulapril · 17/04/2026 05:14

I never read the booklet

PuzzlingRecluse · 17/04/2026 07:29

I got a leaflet with a qr code instead of the usual leaflet telling us about the products, I missed it too as I enjoy reading their descriptions. Online info was fine but not same experience. I understand saving paper though.

ClutteredPalace · 17/04/2026 07:34

I got the impression they've stopped doing the booklet from the little card that came with the box. I can't remember what it said off the top of my head but it gave me the impression you have to just use the qr code now.

I agree with the hand cream comments, it does smell musty and isn't the sort of consistency I like in a hand cream. I did try the foot cream but it felt like rubbing goose fat on my feet! Dp can have that because it gives me the ick. Its odd because I'm not vegan but still can't get over the Emu oil in it. Pk...just why?! It's been in so many things. I don't care how good it may be, I wouldn't buy it out of principle now. I loved the Bibbi perfume, the Tana Meadows was pleasant but a bit boring and I haven't used the night cream yet. Overall the box was a bit of a dud for me. I'm not enthusiastic about the next one now.

The eye patch is my favourite product too. I was so sad when I finished the second one I bought on eBay. I’d definitely have bought it.

PuzzlingRecluse · 17/04/2026 07:42

I haven’t used the Margaret dabs foot cream, I’m horrified by the emu oil (vegetarian not vegan) I did put a comment in my survey about wanting to see more cruelty free products.

IlovePond · 17/04/2026 07:55

@PuzzlingRecluse - I agree - it’s both weird and disgusting!

Re: Leaflet - I got one but put it straight into the recycling, otherwise I would have put a picture on here for those who wanted it.

I might use the GA cream on my feet - it was quite moisturising on the back of my hands last night.

IlovePond · 17/04/2026 07:58

I’ve just realised what the MD emu oil felt like when I rubbed it all over my feet, (before realising what it was made of).

It felt and smelt just like dubbin - the stuff I used to rub all over my leather hiking boots back in the day.

I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I don't agree with using emu oil in products. I've also mentioned in my feedback that I don't want to see products like that again. I honestly don't know what to do with it. I hate the thought of throwing it away as an animal as died for it to be made but I also don't want to sell it or use it.

It would be nice if we could have a cruelty free box, I've long said that we have enough prisoners in this world who have committed horrendous crimes, let's test on them instead of innocent animals.

HumBumBum · 17/04/2026 08:10

Brands I asked for are Medik8, Charlotte Mensah, Trinny London, Agent Nateur and Victoria Beckham - LOVE their/her perfume and eye liners!

IDontHateRainbows · 17/04/2026 08:15

Anyone know which day the perfume discount is on this week? Thought it would be today.

BeaLola · 17/04/2026 08:22

I filled in the survey and put Lisa Eldridge, Bioloquie Recharge as brands I would like to see in future boxes. I said absolutely no more Elasticizer - if it’s in again that’s me definitely done.

I have commented on survey and separately about the new boxes which you can just open - how is that safe ? I have had an item missing from last 2 boxes. If they don’t up their game I will be giving up. I have quite a lot of credit so will probably spend it in next couple of months .

mooshkymoo · 17/04/2026 08:58

I also don’t like the way you can’t really close / reuse the box again after you’ve opened it. There’s that weird floppy tab that’s created by opening it. I usually send the box on to friends and family with any bits I think they’ll love more than me, and I can’t really do that now. (I could to be fair, but still feeling quite dramatic and sulky about it)

It is Sunday, looks to be 15% under £150 spend or 20% over this amount and double points should still apply

When I gave my reasons for cancelling my Beauty Drop membership I also mentioned the new boxes and how unsecure they are, plus I could not longer repurpose them as keepsake boxes.

Unpaidviewer · 17/04/2026 09:53

I don't think a box that will make everyone happy is possible. I really like this one, the foot cream feels odd to put on, kind of like vicks but my feet feel amazing. The hand cream doesn't have an overpowering scent which I like and I love the packaging.

RockaLock · 17/04/2026 10:32

On the contents of the boxes: I would be very surprised if Liberty is scouring their warehouse for old/surplus stock. I also doubt whether their beauty buying team has total control over the contents.

Much more likely, particularly as the boxes are “free” (yes, I know they are £15 per box now) is that Liberty approach their suppliers and ask for freebies / special deals.

So although they will try to get a good range of products in every box, it will be a case of having to take whatever products their suppliers will give them.

MiaN · 17/04/2026 10:53

I like the beauty drop. I didn't like the content reading the description but now I have it
One of the perfumes will either be for my son or bathroom, but I like the smell
I like the second
the omoroviza cream I will use on neck
Handcream is lovely
Hair product - will gift
Foot cream will be used.

I will keep the subscription for some more time
