Droopy mouth

OlDroopyMouth · 08/04/2026 10:45

Me - 60 - until recently was regularly told I looked younger but in last few months have had an ageing surge. It was brought home to me when I had a photo taken for a passport.

I am not vain, I am comfortable looking my age, but what I am not happy about is I am developing a weird droopy mouth that seems to have come out of nowhere. This is a photo of Judy Finnigan. She is 17 years older than me but illustrates what I mean, these lines in the red circle. Mine are nowhere near that advanced but that is the way they are headed. I look miserable and defeated when I am anything but.

So, what can be done. What are these lines called? Is it something only plastic surgery or tweakments can fix? Or face exercises? Serums? Hoist?

Help me I look sad.

I had a small amount of filler, here's the before and after, can still see the needle marks but I was chuffed with the results. This was a year ago and it's just starting to wear off

That looks good. How much did it cost?

@Idontjetwashthefucker - that looks really good. As well as @landlordhell’s Q, what exactly did you ask for?

I just asked for my marionette lines to be less visible, that's pretty much it. Can't recall how much he used, it was a bit swollen for a week or 2 but once it settled I was really happy with it

Thanks @Idontjetwashthefucker
who do you go to?

Im afraid this is what happens in your 60s. Im 64 and off to Lithuania next month for a full face lift. Im not ready for old age yet.
My lower face is drooping and Im not happy with it. It makes me look cross and grumpy and Im not.

Always said I wouldn’t go for face lift ever and I have nothing done now, no Botox or anything else. Just use spf 50 and retinol, but if I get really aged will def get face lift. Would prefer Gillian Taylforth’s surgeon. Who is he?!

I dont know but her face lift is fantastic!
I also lost 5 and a half stone and that made everything worse. Ill be posting my facelift on here so we'll see.

I read she had had thread lifts, but whether she has had a proper face lift I don’t know. I won’t be having a thread lift, too many horror stories, plus they’re expensive and the results don’t last long. I’m sure some are happy with them, though!

You’re brave, wish I had the courage to do that. I just don’t want to have it done outside the U.K.,but when you post results I’ll be envious!

Gettingbysomehow · 12/04/2026 21:13

She definitely had a full face lift. I can tell.

Imagine if you could just grow a beard like men can at this point.

oh is that why they do it? I always wondered why older men grew those grey beards that always look scruffy and are incredibly ageing

I have a droopy mouth too. Living with it as I am not keen on filler or Botox or such. I have to grin like the Joker to persuade people I am not miserable.
Aging is tough.

it's very sobering to be confronted with how old your face has become when you see yourself on a zoom call, or take an accidental photo of yourself. Losing weight has been good, but not for my face. Especially when it's pale after a long winter, and when your brows and lashes have become faded and sparse. I'm happy to have silver hair these days but the overall effect can be a bit grey. You forget that you no longer look quite like the person you always were, and who you still are in your head. I'm trying to accept it as natural ageing and preferable to the alternative...

Yeah heard bad things about thread ones too.

Apparently her current partner was director of PS clinic. Cba right now to google. Will do.

ThatWaryLimePeer · 13/04/2026 18:21

Fillers in the jowl area and cheeks will work wonders.
I started to look
a bit miserably in my late 40’s so did this.

Lifeomars · 14/04/2026 12:52

My face is horrible now and I was always complimented on my looks in my younger years. Can't afford fillers so I guess I will just have to learn to live with the ever increasing deteriotion of what once were reasonalbe looks. i sometimes wonder if we wll end up being able to tell who is poor in older age due to the fact that they can't afford surgery. I have always looked after my skin and used sunscreen but there comes a time when time itself catches up with us. Wonder if men feel this way too

I can definitely afford fillers, Botox and even a facelift. I don't want them.

So you might want to rethink that way of telling who is rich or poor.😁

BlueEyedBogWitch · 14/04/2026 13:33

Dr. Darren McKeown in Glasgow.

Saved me from looking like a ventriloquist's dummy, and no, you can't tell I've had filler.
