Easter is here and so is a new thread. Who needs chocolate when you can have beauty stuff? Or maybe have both. 💋🍫

Welcome to newbies and welcome back veterans of beauty chat threads.

PS. As a sobering thought we are maybe only 3-4 months out from the first advent calendar spoiler. 😂

@marchduck @IDontHateRainbows I’ve just ordered the boots deal - thanks for linking 😊

OvaHere · 08/04/2026 19:55

I'm a bit disappointed with my holiday empties. Despite bringing various minis I think the only thing I will pan completely is a mini Elemis Cleansing Balm and maybe the 5ml eye cream. I have got to try some new stuff out though.

I brought the new Tatcha Memory Cream and Longevity Serum mini. They're nice but not sure I would RP in a large size. Still prefer the Dewy Cream.

Summer Fridays Hydrating Serum - this was from the CB Travel Edit last summer I think. Nice enough but can't see me RP.

Ditto Elemis Marine Collagen Serum. I brought a lot of Elemis (thanks bargain Harrods advent) I do really like the Vitality eye cream, Marine Collagen Cleansing Gel and the Marine Collagen Essence - those I would RP.

Don't particularly like the Elemis Overnight Matrix, I'm using that up mainly through lack of choice.

I wasn't a fan of the overnight matrix either. Made my skin sting after serum (other creams don't). I have the superfood oil and other goodies from QVC on order though.

@Twatterati its a bit like hotel California here 😂 welcome !

I did spot they had an offer with the full size essence and the cleansing gel. I have others to use at home though so I need to not get carried away.

The Overnight Matrix doesn't smell great either. It doesn't sting or anything for me but it's very meh. Feels rich when applied but within a couple of hours I feel like I need more moisture. I've been using a mini tub of Tatcha Indigo sleep mask to top it up.

@Twatterati Welcome to the Pleasure Dome, you will love it, and your bank balance will not, but it’s a lot of fun and filled with lovely, helpful people.

SummerLimes · 08/04/2026 20:31

I think Tatcha is my favourite brand - and (in a few years time) when I use my things up - I might just stick to their products.
Apart from advents, edits which make me weak.

SummerLimes · 08/04/2026 20:32

@Twatterati ste you backing slowly away?!

Welcome 😊

SunnyPinkMoose · 08/04/2026 20:41

I think I am late to the party re tubing mascara . Are they water proof , this time of year my eyes are murder I do a rally good panda . Can anyone recommend a good one in brown ? Or the new rage of plum ? Please 🙂

Tubing mascara is amazing! I'm totally converted. I've tried a few: Revolution was great but a bit gloopy, Hourglass was nice but quite subtle. My favourite is ELF lash extendr, just right for me.

And yes, they are definitely waterproof and smudge proof! Sorry I don't know about colours, I just bought black.

MrsBnow12 · 08/04/2026 20:51

I am also a tubing mascara fan, Hourglass unlocked is my favourite and also liked the Tarte one and have heard good things about Maybelline skyline but that’s in my stash to try

@SunnyPinkMoose I discovered the Hourglass one last year and really love it!
Unlocked Instant Extensions in Espresso. It doesn’t budge on me, even when I put eyedrops in!

CorneliaStreet · 08/04/2026 20:56

@OvaHere I don’t like the Overnight Matrix either. The regular Pro-Collagen night cream is much better.

Welcome @Twatterati.

i was doing really well and hadn’t bought anything in April, but I fell foul of the Lookfantastic sale this morning so yet more skincare incoming.

I have Maybelline. I bought the fancy coloured ones in purple and burgundy. They're really good. If I were to stick to the cheaper end of mascaras I do rate them.

I have just discovered there is a whole sub Reddit dedicated to lip balm, where people post pictures of their massive lip balm collections. It has made me feel a lot better about my little make up bag full of lip balm 😂

SummerLimes · 08/04/2026 21:07

I love the Lisa Eldridge mascara, completely smudge proof. Not tubing though.

Doglover73 · 08/04/2026 21:30

My fav tubing mascara is blinc x

LightandBreezy · 08/04/2026 22:51

Seconding the recommendation for the ELF tubing mascara, it comes in brown too and is a cheap way to try out tubing mascara. I have very smudgy eyes and it's brilliant, doesn't shift until you want it to.

TragicMuse · 09/04/2026 00:03

The StyleKorean pharmacy box is incredible! I’ve just added it all to ChatGPT and created a routine for glowy but matte skin! I’m so pleased I bought it!

ITookYourJoob · 09/04/2026 08:57

Anyone having problems with Royal Mail lately? They’ve lost two of my parcels in just a week and now it looks like my SpaceNK order has a similar fate 😬

Mine keep going to the wrong delivery office which keeps delaying them whilst they are rerouted. My space NK was due yesterday but it’s currently sat at a delivery office outside my area. Let’s see what today brings but at the moment they are making Evri look efficient!

user593 · 09/04/2026 09:37

FTF is offering 5% off ‘almost everything’ (no code needed) but it doesn’t work on the Easter Mystery Bundle.

ITookYourJoob · 09/04/2026 10:02

@Beautyfox ahh hopefully that’s the delay! Evri has been brilliant-largely depends on the delivery driver though.

IlovePond · 09/04/2026 10:59

Morning, I have finally escaped from four days in a field without a car, (it’s fixed now, fortunately), and am back home.

One of the - few - bright spots of my ruined week away was using the JL flat lay type bag I bought on a whim in store last week. It’s so lovely and I was able to open everything out and see what I needed at a glance.

I managed to use up an eye cream that had been going on forever, (GlamFox 30ml tube from TKMAXX that just wouldn’t finish - best £5 spend ever 😹), a hand cream and a couple of moisturiser minis and some sample sachets.

I took the SDJ yellow shampoo and conditioner away with me but it leaves my hair really greasy so I definitely won’t be repurchasing that! Shame as it smells lovely.
