@Sminty2 I have just started using their cold pressed rose hip oil as a night serum and that feels nice. But otherwise I’m like you - like the look of the products but haven’t tried them :-)

Sali Hughes rates their 0.2% Retinal

Thank you, the Rose Hip sounds lovely and I have looked up Sali’s comments. She seems to really rate the products.

Thank you, it’s really good to get a genuine view.

I dont think I've seen anyone mention this fragrance edit yet?

https://beauty-detective.com/debenhams-niche-fragrance-discovery-edit-2026/

My colleague who's perfume mad too sent me the link today. Apparently we already have one of them, she lets me know as she has a Fragrantica list of all the perfumes she's bought in edits/advents etc. Over the bank holiday I'm planning to create my own list to keep track too. I also want to spray all my perfumes to start giving away ones I won't use. I ordered this edit so need to make room!⁷

Just checking something, do you all order stuff ie pallettes etc, open them, and send them back?
I can't see how that is hygienic, and have never done it. I've seen it a few times on these threads and it's making me wary of buying things

None of those brands appeal to me, looks like Debenhams has used relatively unknown brands it's a no from me.

I’m up for a change , so I have ordered ! It’s a good price and honestly I’m not too keen on the high end ones I’ve had from the BAC’s . Let’s see ! It’s always exciting to get something new in the post !

@OvaHere thank you. I saw a video earlier where someone said that if you can only get 1 eyeshadow palette to get the one with the blue, but after seeing that review, I think the coral one looks and performs better 😍 so I'm quite pleased with the coral one now. I still can't decide on the bronzer and lip gloss but I'll be keeping the highlighter.

I wasn’t interested the sunset eyeshadow palette but after watching the video I really like it!
I was thinking of getting a bronzer but other than the packaging I’m not drawn to it. I actually like the quad glow maximiser palettes instead

For the LF offer you posted earlier, did you manage to get the extra10 discount to work on the YSL blush? I’ve tried it on the pink voltage but it’s not applying it

Sorry, I think I might've posted earlier that the extra 10% was with code EXTRA10, it's actually EMAIL10. Hope it works for you now 😊

The only brand I recognise is Maison Matine and I really liked their perfume (Avant L'Orage) that was in an edit/kit last year. I hadnt heard of them either at the time tbh. This is a bit of mystery buy for me really but I dont mind for the price.

Fillybuster · 02/04/2026 23:27

Still catching up but before I forget (or run out of time before dh gets cross about how long I’m taking to get to bed and I blame my skincare routine 😂 ) @SheilaFentiman & @Sminty2 I’ve been using the Ordinary range for a few years. Absolutely love both the peptide and the ceramide moisturisers (I prefer the peptide, but social media goes more for the ceramide), there’s some very good eye creams and the glycolic acid 7% is excellent, way better than Sunday Riley GG which I also have on the go at the moment.

IlovePond · 02/04/2026 23:30

@Doglover73 - with my £10 voucher I bought a Jo Malone 9ml for £8 instead of £18 - the wood sage and sea salt one. I was quite pleased with that.

Doglover73 · 02/04/2026 23:42

Ive just tried it on the lime, mandarin and basil and wouldnt work. Ill try more tomorrow thanks.
🥰

News on the cult beauty missing voucher. They have escalated it. X

Absolutely not. I have never opened and then returned something and I don’t think any of the regulars on here do. I’m very picky about cosmetics and wouldn’t dream of it. Some people might order things (in case they sell out) and send them back once they have seen social media posts swatching the product if they change their mind. It doesn’t mean they’ve opened them. People will also return faulty items if they receive something that is not as described.

IlovePond · 02/04/2026 23:55

@Canipleaseask - I only return skincare/makeup if it arrives damaged - I dislike buying things that aren’t sealed. I wish all companies security sealed items for hygiene reasons.

IlovePond · 02/04/2026 23:57

@Doglover73 - I could only get the £10 voucher to use on the fragrances that were in the sample special offer. I think other people were able to use them more widely. It’s a bit of a glitchy offer.

ClutteredPalace · 03/04/2026 06:01

Managed to pick up the Woody SNK set this morning. They seem to restock the site around 6am so worth checking then if you are waiting for any edits to come back in stock. Who needs sleep? 😅😴

That was in last summer's Liberty scent kit. I really liked that one.

Debenhams sent me a £10 voucher for doing a survey. However the catch is it's a min £50 spend and it's only valid for 2 weeks from yesterday.

The couple of cleansers I’ve tried from the Ordinary have been really good, the squalene and the glycoside ones.

I preferred the coral one too but watching the video none of it appeals greatly to me. If I'm going to buy any eyeshadow I don't need I may as well buy the MBM palette I'm trying to resist.

I don't know why but Dior mostly never quite does it for me despite all the lovely packaging and fancy bits they do.

I had the Forever Glow foundation a couple of years ago which was nice but the colour match not totally right. I've got one brown/neutral eyeshadow palette (something cashmere?) which is fine but doesn't wow me and one blush I was very underwhelmed with.

I have the lip maximiser in sunset something I got last year. That I do really like but overall the brand doesn't seem a good fit. My hit to dud ratio isn't great. It's a bit frustrating because I like the idea of ordering from direct from Dior and getting all the lovely packaging and freebies they do but it's probably not going to happen. All the counter staff have been lovely too.

Product wise I prefer Chanel. I don't have a lot of it but everything has worked better for me. However their CS experience both online and in store so far is rubbish compared to Dior.

Disappointed Rhode isn’t included in the Sephora discount. I ordered Merit Bespoke Lip Blush though as I’ve been wanting it for a while. Not much else worth getting when only 20% off!

user593 · 03/04/2026 07:52

@OvaHere I don’t buy much Chanel but I have some lovely Chanel lipsticks which I really rate! Never been in to Dior or YSL.

Thanks for this as was waiting for it to come back in stock.

I ordered both Dior bronzer’s and after watching the swatches will keep the pink one and return the coral. I was tempted by the highlighter but also remembered I don’t wear one day to day so don’t need another as have one I love from last year.

I will highly recommend the It Cosmetics do it all tint balm, I think it acts like a light to medium foundation and gives good coverage and is easily buildable, it isn’t tacky and you don’t need to powder it, lasts all day, it also blends like a dream ( I use a brush) so don’t know how it would work with other things. it didn’t go dry and cakey even after a full day in air con at the office
it has quickly become the one I reach for daily and have bought a backup.
