Beauty addicts assemble.

A new thread as we are powering through them at quite a rate now.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to the beauty chat and we are always happy to see new posters.

Join at your peril. It can get spendy. 😬

@JoRaRaRa I will. When she was talking she did say “I think this is in the goodie bag”, - that could have been an accidental slip and she’s given it away, or she may not know exactly what’s in there.

Annoyingly, I want most of what she showed, as they are my shades. So I’ll wait and see what comes, then buy whatever is left from my list (could be all of it, they may send completely different products 😅)

Thelifeofawife · 17/03/2026 23:06

Thanks @OvaHere @MrsBnow12 I’ll take a look. I was planning to get a travel set as they look good as well, but then I remembered that DS got me this for my birthday🥰 (another thing I put away for ‘special occasions/ treat use - I need to just start using things!)

Thanks for the new thread @OvaHere 💐

Seriously: you lot move FAST! I last checked the thread at 11am, and by the time I got back online this evening there were 78 new messages on the old thread and a whole new one to catch up on. Thank goodness I didn’t miss another CB 40% special, or I’d be seriously questioning my life choices 😂

I can’t remember if I reported back last week: DSIS was absolutely thrilled with her Cosmic Brushes Winter Wonderland palette, so thank you again @OvaHere

Im not loving the Dermologica serum, and in fact am wondering if I’m just not a serum person. I find them all a bit tacky (sticky, as opposed to low class…..) and generally pointless. Maybe I haven’t met the right one? On the other hand, the medik8 vit c cream feels like a total keeper. Lucky I’ve got 2 full bottles, and then a REN vit c to try….

OvaHere · 17/03/2026 23:49

Really pleased she loved it @Fillybuster

I'll kick things off with some new releases that are taking up headspace and I'm trying to resist. Some released some coming soon.

Unsurprisingly all but one are blush which I have enough of for 3 lifetimes. At the moment Laura Mercier is drawing me in the most. The NARS look similar to Gucci Glow especially that plum shade.

I've got enough SNK vouchers for an eye palette and one blush if I want but I'm trying to hold off and not waste them on an impulsive purchase. I'd like to get to a store to do some swatching.

I’ve just been googling to try and find the Laura mercier blush but only the older ones are coming up. Do you have a link please?

I think I’m going to use my Medicube Wrapping Mask tonight or tomorrow as I have a microneedling session coming up so have to lay off the retinol. Any tips? I’m a bit worried it’s going to spoil my bed linen!

Edited

Possibly too late now but you really don’t have to worry about your bedding! It really does set after a few minutes and that’s that until you (try to) peel it off in the morning.

Thank you! I didn’t end up using it last night but I think I’ll try it tonight ☺️

Thanks for the new thread!

I set up a new SNK account with my work email to get 12% TCB. The FIRST15 code didn't work on the fragrance edits but I bought Gourmand and Floral anyway. I think they're a bit pricey but also know Id regret not buying them. I may be disciplined and put some away for advent.

I've had no survey email from SNK but I have items in mind to buy if one comes through!

MrsBnow12 · 18/03/2026 07:19

I used my Space NK code this morning and got the VBB lipstick in 02 that is available at SNK today, I also picked up another Floral and Gourmand set and will sell the items I don’t want from them.

user593 · 18/03/2026 07:27

@MrsBnow12 Are the VBB lipsticks nice? Not that I need more lipsticks… 🤣

MrsBnow12 · 18/03/2026 07:39

@user593I like them, I bought two earlier this year and they are the ones I reach for the most now.
They don’t dry my lips and the colour lasts well.

They haven't released yet. Not sure when they are coming but they've been promoted a lot recently so must be soon.

I have some vbb lipsticks and I really like them @user593. Nice creamy consistency

LoveLabradors · 18/03/2026 08:12

@user593 I used the medicube last night. I did it an hour before bed and it did start to peel a little in that time. The majority stayed on despite me wriggling around and being a side sleeper. Jury is out whether it has made much difference! Would be interested to hear from someone who has tried this and the byoma and which is rated higher.

I’ve got and love the Byoma so I’ll report back once I’ve used the Medicube!

ElizabethG81 · 18/03/2026 08:50

I’ve used both Medicube and Byoma once each so far. I think I used too little of the Medicube and too much of the Byoma 😂 So I need to try both again but first impressions were that Byoma was lovely and genuinely leaves a glow. Medicube was a bit frustrating to peel as I don’t think I used enough.

BlueLimes · 18/03/2026 09:15

Thanks for the new thread @OvaHere

I’ve not purchased anything yet today 😇

user593 · 18/03/2026 09:20

I am wearing Rhode Lip Tint in Pretzel for the first time today. I like it and it makes my lips a nice colour (although I imagine it’s different on everyone because it’s sheer!) but I can’t see any sparkles like there are in the promo photos. Very comparable to the Summer Fridays Butter Balms. I have two of those so really don’t need any more lip glosses!

Thelifeofawife · 18/03/2026 09:50

@Talisin @user593 @LoveLabradors @ElizabethG81
I used the medicube mask last night. I should have read up on it first 😅 I thought it was a cream calling itself a mask. I only put a thin layer on and when I got up this morning it was peeling, and so fiddly to peel myself so I just washed it off. My skin looked fresh but within a short time it felt quite dry in places.

I am also glad that I woke up before DH & DS, no one wants to see my peeling face of a morning! 😅 And to be honest, I feel rough enough in the mornings without being greeted by that in the mirror…but I shall persevere 😁

user593 · 18/03/2026 10:06

@Thelifeofawife I find I have to put a lot of the Byoma mask on to get a good peel so I imagine it will be the same for the Medicube. I’ve not had the Byoma mask long and I’ve already used half the jar (probably from 3 or 4 applications)!

Thelifeofawife · 18/03/2026 10:15

@user593 That’s interesting about the Byoma, you’d expect to get more than that out of it.

Next time I use the medicube I’ll put probably 3 times the amount on.

I suppose if you don’t get a lot of applications out of them, there are other products on the market that achieve great results and last a lot longer, so they will be a less likely go-to. The Elemis (cream) mask I’ve been using feels like it’s been going forever! My skin always feels nice the next morning. Luckily I have a spare one in my stash as well.

OvaHere · 18/03/2026 10:29

The Byoma mask is enjoyable but I get the same glow from the BoJ Rice and Honey mask that is probably more cost effective per use.. The novelty really is the peel off which is satisfying.

@Thelifeofawife My go to is the Dr Sebagh Deep Exfoliating Mask but it’s rather full on and as I’ve been using retinol, vitamin c and having laser hair removal and microneedling recently I’ve been a little afraid to use it! It’s an amazing mask though. The Byoma is fun and my skin looks glowy afterwards but I’d question the long term benefits.
