If you wore CK one perfume in the 90s….

What perfume are you wearing now?

I loved ck one back in the day but stopped wearing perfume when I had kids. Would love a nice fresh scent but perfumes these days all seem so heavy. Any recommendations?

I used to wear it, among many others. If you liked it for its light unisex vibe, I’d strongly recommend Jo Malone’s Silver Birch and Lavender, or even their stronger Cypress and Grapevine. A lot of the scents being mentioned on here are very feminine and not at all in the same vein as CK One.

Thank you all so much for
recommendations. I think I’m going to have to make a list and go test them
all it.

I confess I didn’t know you could still get ck1, will check out savers and Superdrug next time i am in town.

I still wear CK1 and also CkBe

I loved CK be also but for some reason it turned sour on my skin and smelled like cats pee. That and Angel (an expensive lesson)

I preferred CkBe. It was soapy and delicious to my nose, but I remember some of my friends saying it didn’t sit well with their body chemistry.
£24.99 in Savers! I’m tempted to buy some for nostalgia’s sake.

After reading this thread i desperately need XS pour elle, another 90s fave.

Starlight1979 · 10/03/2026 15:50

Without wanting to derail the thread, I have been asked to buy a gift for someone who used to love Sensuous Noir by Estee Lauder (which has been discontinued) and to find something similar... Anyone got any suggestions?!?! 🙏

I think CK One is pretty feminine, tbh. The middle notes are mostly floral. The unisex positioning was largely marketing!

Hmm, that’s a good point. Marketing and packaging can be very influential. But I must say, that on me CK One always smelled masculine. All I could smell was a citrusy, bergamot, woody scent. Perhaps on others the floral notes stand out more?

Quite a few male scents feature florals, they aren’t exclusively used for women, but the other layers of more masculine ingredients are balanced to project stronger.

This thread is making me want to buy a bottle again and try to reimagine it as a floral!

HoobleDooble · 10/03/2026 16:42

D&G Light Blue is my daytime go to. It’s light and citrusy.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 10/03/2026 17:05

I still wear CK One. It's my day-to-day perfume, I wear Versace Crystal as my 'going out' perfume.

KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying · 10/03/2026 17:06

Jo Malone’s Earl Grey and Cucumber is similar to CK One - very fresh but not astringent. I’m not a huge JM fan but that one is lovely.

Oh I had that one too! I’d forgotten entirely about it until you mentioned it!

Ahhh CK One….oh those 90s memories! ❤️

TurquoiseDress · 11/03/2026 10:25

Reminds me of Issey Miyake L’eua d’Issey an ex boyfriend used to wear this and I would use it too, such a fresh vibrant scent!

daisydalrymple · 13/03/2026 13:47

Loved ck one.
I now wear Clinique happy heart and ck euphoria. I loved forbidden euphoria, but thats discontinued.
I do think sometimes I should try out alternatives, as my choices probably put me firmly in a specific age bracket, but I’m ok with that 🤩

I remember 90s ck1 as being really citrusy, I’ve got a bottle now and on me it’s much more mellow/floral.

I assumed formula change but wonder if it’s actually the way it smells/reacts on me has changed.

Nonetheless I really like it now and it’s my ‘everyday’ perfume.

zurigo · 13/03/2026 17:13

CK One Summer or Clarins Eau des Jardins or French Connection, the citrusy one in the white box.

ZoeCM · 13/03/2026 17:15

I wore CK1 in the 00s. My favourite perfume now is English Pear & Freesia by Jo Malone. But I'll be honest - I still love Britney perfumes in my 30s!

DemonsandMosquitoes · 13/03/2026 19:46

CK one! Big bottle was on sale at Xmas so bought one. God the flashbacks!

Placestogo · 13/03/2026 21:31

I now wear allure from chanel
but im looking for an (cheaper) alternative…
