What perfume are you wearing now?

I loved ck one back in the day but stopped wearing perfume when I had kids. Would love a nice fresh scent but perfumes these days all seem so heavy. Any recommendations?

I loved CK1 too! Then for years I wore L'Eau D'issey. Then I changed to another form of L'Eau D'issey, the name of which I can't remember as it got discontinued but was the perfume I got the most compliments on. I now kind of rotate between Victoria Beckham San Ysidro Drive, Tom Ford's Cafe Rose, Santa 33 and DH's Terre D'Hermes which also weirdly gets the most compliments.

I still wear CK1 and also CkBe

I bought CK 1 last year and I still love it as I wore it all the time years ago. I wear coco mademoiselle, YSL libre and Miss Dior now but reach for CK 1 regularly still

So do I and my other perfumes are similar (Chanel, Dior, Marc Jacobs).

Still wear CKOne. If you can find a Savers they usually have it cheap in there.

Also used to love Emporio Armani She (the gold cylinder one) and Ralph by Ralph Lauren.

Thesummer · 09/03/2026 23:08

Chance by Chanel - the green one is quite fresh and zesty although I always end up sticking with the pink floral one which is fresh but in a different way.

I might get a bottle of CKone now for old times sake!

I still have a tiny bit left of one from the 90s. I don't really want to finally use it up, as it's cool to be able to smell the 90s sometimes. Though it can be depressing! I don't think the current version is the same.

^^This! I used to wear Issey Miyake and CK One in the 90s, and they remind me so much of those days! Also Chloe Innocence which had a lovely fresh aniseed note, but that’s long gone 😭 Some of the others I loved from that era include Kenzo Parfum d’Été and Aramis New West.

In the 2000s I went through a period of wearing “clean” powdery scents like Donna Karan Cashmere Mist and several ones by Tocca.

These days I wear either Prada Infusion d’Iris or Diptyqye Philosykos. Bloody expensive they are too — perfume prices have rocketed since the pandemic!

Jo Malone - Lime & Basil it’s super fresh!

BeMellowAquaSquid · 09/03/2026 23:18

I loved ckone. My dd just bought me a £20 Zara perfume Immortal Vanillla and it really reminds me of it.

Pistachiocake · 09/03/2026 23:18

One of the things my kids were reading said that was "in" again, so presumably they still make it, so buy that if you like it.

Oooh! There is a Savers in my town - will have to pop in.

Is Kenzo Parfum d’ete the one that had a bottle that was shaped like a leaf? I liked that one too.

My dh was wearing Eau d’Issey when we first met in 2000.

Bees and wasps love the Gucci yellow I find! So much so I only wear it if I know I’m going to be indoors.

Thank you for this! I'm truly terrified of wasps

Yes! I think they redid the bottle in the mid-90s at some point though so that it looked very like the Flower ones.

I have a friend who still always wears l’Eau d’Issey and it transports me back instantly to 1996. (How can that be THIRTY years ago? <sob!>) I couldn’t wear it myself these days as it’s v strong, and I’ve got more sensitive to perfume as I’ve got older. But I still think L’Eau d’Issey has the most beautiful perfume bottle of all time.

Feejoah · 09/03/2026 23:28

CK Everyone.

I like citrusy scents.

Miss the 90’s so much. I think everyone probably feels like that about ‘their’ era, but the 90’s were just the best.

I love CK One too. My friend loves Kenzo. My sister bought me L'eau by kenzo its really nice.

Defiantly41 · 09/03/2026 23:38

D s & Durga Crush Balls … weird name, DH bought it by mistake ( I asked for ‘I don’t know what’) green, grassy but sophisticated

Also Jo Malone Grapefruit or Lime Basil Mandarin, and have fond memories of Bulgaria The Vert

Dkny the tall skinny one and Clinique happy heart. Also like dkny be delicious fresh blossom.
I adore kenzo flower but it’s expensive.

Seconding the “Happy Heart” and the tall narrow DKNY, both light and fresh scents that last pretty well.
JLo Glow is fairly light, too but not a massive long laster. Costs around £20 on Amazon. Next “Pink” could also suit your search, starts around £10 I think.

CK One and Chloe now, and I actually wore Escape and Chloe Narcisse in the 1990s. Recently bought some CK Be as well. They are nice, fresh and light.
