We set a record with the last thread. Just 2 weeks from start to finish!!!!

So here's the new one and we're now in double digits.

As always everyone is welcome to join even if you've just been lurking, but like those kids on the back of the school bus your Mum warned you about, we are a bad influence.... 😈

@namechange0998776554799000 The Beauty of Joseon Revive retinal & ginseng eye cream is lovely. Lightweight texture and I haven’t had any issues from the retinal, seems very gentle.

I recently finished the Lancome Génifique eye cream and that was great too. It’s a heavier texture than the BOJ one but it absorbs really well, doesn’t pill and and didn’t cause any milia for me.

I like SR Autocorrect and Estee Lauder ANR gel eye cream is nice. The Allies of Skin is also nice but a thicker cream so might not be suitable for what you want. The Lancome one in the black pot is also similar to EL ANR and quite popular.

Ooh this was useful because you've reminded me I have two EL ones in my cupboard 😆 I've got them in gift sets with ANR serum which I often use and because I never used to use eye cream I just put them away. I will give them a try!

This is good to hear - the beauty of joseon is constantly in my basket then I keep removing it because I'm nervous of the retinal - I only recently started using retinal and it makes me nervous. It's reasonably priced though so I feel like it would be a good long term option if I can get on with it

Fillybuster · 22/02/2026 11:19

@namechange0998776554799000 another option is the Goldfadden MD Eye Defy lotion. So good I’ve paid full price for it several times! It’s fairly light, non greasy, and doesn’t trigger any of my usual sensitivities around the eyes.

Thelifeofawife · 22/02/2026 11:29

I still had the CB edit in my basket and the Gucci blush, so I added the BOJ face mask that was recently recommended, and some toiletries to take it over the £100.

I love the medik8 C-tetra so this is worth it for me.
@OvaHere The Huda primer does look okay on light skin based on the photos it shows, despite it being ‘fudge’ colour
I have light skin and will use it unless I need to clear more of my stash to recoup some money

In rummaging through the cupboard to find my ANR eye cream I've also found a lancone Génifique one 😆

A good lesson in checking your stash before deciding you need something 😂

LoveLabradors · 22/02/2026 11:55

@Thelifeofawife I am so pleased with the BOJ honey and rice mask and the calming sheet masks. They were great recommendation from @OvaHere .
The cult gift is a good one but I can’t justify it, there isn’t anything I really need.

Beauty related offer - Costco have £ 170 off the Shark Flex Fusion straightener - bringing it to £169.99

https://www.costco.co.uk/Personal-Care/Haircare-Styling/Hair-Dryer-Brushes/Shark-FlexFusion-Straight-4-in-1-Air-Styler-Dryer-Ceramic-Straightener-HD641SUK/p/625624

Anyone have experience of the Shark flex fusion? There’s a 5 in 1 out which i guess is why the 4 in 1 is reduced. Trying to work out the difference now -it won’t be £170 worth, I’m sure!. I already have an older Dyson- the type where you have to swap brushes for each side of your head. I think this is the same as there are two barrels shown (and the curls don’t stay in my hair anyway). I like the wet to dry straightening options in theory but do I really need it?

Talisin · 22/02/2026 12:08

Quidco has an opt in £10 bonus cashback for a £65 spend at Cult Beauty right now. First 2,000 only.

I bought it when it came out for twice the current price (grumble grumble), but i love it - I don't really use anything else on my hair now. The brow dry brush gets the most use out of me, although I did use the straightener a lot when I first got it. It's fab for travel as I no longer need to carry a dryer/straighteners/curling wand, I just bring the one thing.

Unless you need a diffuser the 4-in-1 will be fine, I got the 5 in one (I think maybe that came out first?) but the diffuser is still in the packaging so a waste for me.

Thelifeofawife · 22/02/2026 12:10

@LoveLabradors I also have a calming sheet mask in my order - looking forward to trying it

I must admit I do have a few sheet masks in my stash as I don’t use them often, but I am planning to as I need to force myself to relax more

namechange0998776554799000 · 22/02/2026 13:03

I've tried the EL ANR eye cream and it really stung when I applied but has now settled down. Is this a thing with some eye creams, or just a sign it's not right for my skin?

IlovePond · 22/02/2026 13:15

@namechange0998776554799000 - I have been using it for years and never had a reaction. Sadly, it sounds like you might be allergic to it, (unless it was reacting with something else you had on ?)

namechange0998776554799000 · 22/02/2026 13:17

The only other thing I had on was Tatcha dewy cream. I do have very sensitive skin, especially under my eyes, which is why I never used to use eye cream! I'll move on to the next one tomorrow and see if there's anything that suits me

IlovePond · 22/02/2026 13:32

Interesting @namechange0998776554799000 I am trying the Tatcha dewy skin magma and finding it a bit chemically/over-scented. I had high hopes, but won’t be repu.

Hicupping · 22/02/2026 13:44

I've got the Matrix mask. I'm not sure what it does. Maybe I haven't been consistent enough. It doesn't irritate my skin which is good, doesn't seem particularly nourishing. Skin looks no different. Very underwhelmed. I wouldn't get the GWP just for that.

namechange0998776554799000 · 22/02/2026 13:46

I've already changed my mind about getting the edit 😆 I used my vitamin c this morning and realised I've got loads left and by the time I finish it I'll probably be bored and want to move onto something else. I was also looking at the other items and most I wouldn't consider if they weren't free. Thank you for your post @Hicupping, that has cemented it for me!

I just checked reviews for the eye cream on the EL site and sadly there are many people saying they've recently changed the formula and it's now burning :-(

IlovePond · 22/02/2026 14:15

Oh no @namechange0998776554799000 / it’s my favourite 🙀🙀🙀 and I have been using it for years.

I have two in the pipeline after the one I have on the go atm. Hopefully they are both old stock, but I suspect not!

Why do these companies feel the need to fiddle with things that don’t need fiddling with? It never goes well!

IlovePond · 22/02/2026 14:16

Just spotted the ridiculous autocorrects on my previous post - magma = moisturiser and repu = repurchasing 🙈

IlovePond · 22/02/2026 14:19

I’m not seeing how that CB GWP is worth £200 - I can’t see a list of items anywhere. Can someone please enlighten me about what makes it so special/worth £200.

Thanks

IlovePond · 22/02/2026 14:20

I got the fragrance GWP from CB a while back and, although I really disliked some of the perfume, (looking at you, horrid Discotheque 😹), I could see how it was ‘worth’ whatever they were claiming.

With this GWP I am just not seeing it 🤷‍♀️
