I went into the newly refurbished Pantheon M&S on Oxford street last week and it was MAGNIFICENT! So nicely laid out into almost small boutique style sections and SO MUCH lovely stuff. Sadly I only had 20 minutes before meeting up with a friend but if you’re passing I’d recommend a visit.

No I don’t work for M&S!

Love the jacket op.

I could be tempted to make a pilgrimage 😂

I really like it. Apparently bombers are where it’s at this year.

Floisme · 29/01/2026 09:19

I like it and I like dropped shoulders. Thanks for sharing op.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/01/2026 10:14

I really like that but hate the collar. Would have been very tempted otherwise.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/01/2026 10:16

I love dropped shoulders.

I love dropped shoulders.

Me too.

Asparename · 29/01/2026 10:23

I also don’t like the collar. I used to have a faux leather jacket from Marks and it just started to disintegrate hanging up on the hook, so I won’t be buying this.

Appalonia · 29/01/2026 10:24

It's very shapeless. And definitely reminiscent of the eighties. But if it looks good on you, then brilliant! We're all different😁 ( It would look so frumpy on me )

In the spirit of not gate keeping a good find….love this M&S one, do think they’ve upped their game these days..

Ohhh I love this OP! I got an M&S voucher for Xmas and might well just spend it on this 😊

anything and everything, denim jackets are so versatile

Edited

just not jeans though. Double denim isn’t a good look

I love denim jackets but this is 😬😬 it reminds me of something my dad wore in the 80s, which may be fashionable now but it sets my teeth on edge. I'm not sure what I hate more, the awful collar or the drawstring bottom!

That's because we did wear them in the 80s - and there's a reason we stopped wearing them!

I like a lot of stuff in M&S at the moment, but not so keen on this.

15February1960 · 29/01/2026 12:26

Collar and pockets on outside and drawstring are not for me.

lindyloo57 · 29/01/2026 12:31

Shame they put that coller on, as it will peel and crack so won't last long.

teaandtoastwouldbenice · 29/01/2026 13:28

I like it except the toggles they always dangle oddly for me

Dropped shoulders must die

Agree. And it’s so weird seeing things become popular that you would've laughed at in the 80s. I guess it’s to compliment the mullets and half mast trousers with white socks.

Crojo · 29/01/2026 13:54

I really like the style of it, but as others have said I’m not keen on the collar as it won’t last long and whenever I’ve had a coat with those wrist straps they’ve annoyed the hell out of me so I avoid them now.
More photos on the website would have been good!

wishingonastar101 · 29/01/2026 14:51

I like it. Giving sensible lesbian vibes...

the top chick looks ok.. the other double denim examples are awful!

Nutmuncher · 29/01/2026 15:01

The plastic collar ruins it. The shape and style doesn’t look bad but that collar does. Corduroy, even black denim or velvet would have been a much more considered practical choice. Pleather has no longevity beyond a few years so it’s a piece you’d probably need to bin in a few years due to it peeling or flaking.

Dropped shoulders must die

Why?

BitOutOfPractice · 29/01/2026 15:46

I am wary of double denim because I’m worried about giving off Shakin Stevens vibes. But when I see (usually younger admittedly) women wearing it, they look great.

I have just bought a denim two piece outfit but it’s a bit chilly for it right now.

TheKateColumbo · 29/01/2026 16:03

I like the shape but M&S have unfortunately spoiled several decent jackets with those low quality pleather collars.

NancyBellaDonna · 29/01/2026 16:55

I love it! Nice relaxed fit and a flattering style. However I would be concerned about the quality of the collar. As previously mentioned pleather won't last long without peeling/cracking - corduroy would have been a better choice.

I must say I have bought quite a few items from M&S in the last few months, they have definitely turned the clothing section round. Their M&S barrel jeans at thirty quid are great.

goingtotown · 29/01/2026 17:02

Draw string & plastic collar looks cheap.
