I've seen lots of messages about people who have cancelled their order - did you do this via phone or email

I tried via email and was told no. I think people have had better luck when phoning but not sure if they are still allowing this.

Interesting about cancellations- I had assumed that there was some kind of ‘cancel my order’ button on the site. I am surprised that ROKA were letting people cancel via email/phone conversations, but their CS is usually very good.

I’m disappointed that they haven’t done at least a free shipping promo today. It’s a bit short-sighted of them, I think - especially after removing the discounts that worked during most of the promotion until being disabled. I guess business has been good enough that they don’t need to offer a further incentive.

Based on my experience of cost prices when I was a retail buyer, if they let people use discount codes and absorb the cost of delivery as well as selling items for near cost price (which they are - £60 items for £18 for example bearing in mind they need to pay for the bag, packaging, and shipping to their warehouse) they might as well chuck them in landfill.

Discount codes were never supposed to work with the lucky dip accprding to their terms. I'm surprised Roka didn't get on that quicker.

As for cancelling I cancelled by email (just asked politely if it wasn't at the shipping stage, please cancel as I already had one of the 2 bags being sent so thought it saved them one lot of processing as it would only have gone back) I have had my card refund almost instantly but the store credit I used to pay for part of the order has not been returned yet so currently £20 out of pocket (which is the main reason I haven't gone again as think that should have been issued at the same time as the card refund)

@IlovePond the cynic in me thinks they might throw some kind of last minute offer in tomorrow for the last day to try and shift some more of their returns

I hope you get your credit refunded @Justhereforthechristmasthreads I was wondering about a last minute promo but I would have expected it today when more people are around, shopping, etc. rather than on a Monday, but who knows 🤷‍♀️

I still think the decision to do a quick LD was a last minute one - I really didn’t think they were going to do it as there was a Xmas sale so soon after BF.

I wish I had jumped on the BF offer - that was so good!

On an unrelated note: It looks like they are maybe discontinuing the Moorgate and the Blackfriars crossbody bags - just as I decided I needed at least one in my life. The Moorgate no longer has a page and there’s only one colour for the Blackfriars. I’m annoyed for not buying one earlier. Chapel Interiors has some Moorgates reduced to £35, but I have held off so far.

I’ve decided I need an English rose or nice pink Trafalgar bag in my life. If anyone gets one and is wanting rid let me know x

I’ve managed to resist a final dip. I’ve just returned my last dip and I think I’ve finally made the mental connection that I only get Canfields or paddingtons and I don’t like either style.

I’ll get a small black Finchley in the next sale then I think I’m probably done with Roka

Ooh, I have a Heathrow on my order!! Fingers crossed it stays!!

I got:

Medium firecracker Canfield which I quite like as a summer day out bag but strictly speaking didn't need as I have a black and grey one
Moorgate in navy - love, great work bag
Small Bantry in black and green which I wanted (was desperate for a small backpack)
Bond sample in Baroque (pink)

Bit sad I got nothing at all in canvas, especially as I recently sold a red canvas medium Bantry due to lack of side pockets.

I really was! There were a few that I could have got allocated that I already had, if that makes sense. I got a City duffel for Christmas when they were half price for Black Friday and I got a Trafalgar in the BF sale the year before so wanted to avoid duplicates of those.

I like the idea of the Heathrow, but I do not understand why they haven’t made the big zip lockable. It’s the same with all ROKA bags, but it’s particularly problematic with the Heathrow if it’s being worn as a backpack due to that really long zip down the back.

As much as they're a good value option to get for £35 it's too big for me to store and it's also 6cm too long for most hand luggage sizes so I'd never use it! I have a leather weekend bag I don't want to part with.

I’ve just realised that the Gatwick DOES have a double zip for locking - very sensible. ROKA need to do this with other bags too, especially the Heathrow.

The Gatwick is a bit heavy for me, but I do quite fancy one for DH or frequently travelling DC.

I think the Lucky Dip was planned. I remember someone asking this in their colour chat group a few months ago and they said they were planning to do it but it would look different this year. And it makes sense to do a sale first and then the Lucky Dip to clear the stock that didn’t sell so well.

I don’t really understand the complaint of them withdrawing the codes. They were never supposed to work. I’ve used them for all my orders and it’s shame but I’m just pleased I’ve been able to make the most of them. And on the other hand I can still get 8.2% TCB so all’s well.

I do think they’ve done a good job with it this year. The categories are better and make more sense. I’ve had a small Canfield and a Portobello for just over £18 each! And some gorgeous larger bags too for a bargain price.

Yesterday afternoon - after the postman had arrived with my last disappointing dip! 😁

I dipped again yesterday. So in total I've got Med City Duffel in black (really useful), Med Canfield in Taupe (son wants this to be his/ the family outing bag, hence the further purchase), Small Bantry in Baroque, Med Canfield in Firecracker, and Bond pocket cross body in Co* (maybe Copper?). Last year I got one of the circle ones in Teal from Vinted and I love it. I think this should complete my collection... Until next time.

Well, that’s one to Roka. I went to return my unwanted LD (medium City Duffel in black) and ended up exchanging it for a small Belsize in chilli at full price. But because I’d paid the LD amount ten days ago, it feels like a bargain. Kind of.

Anyway, I’m excited about my lovely new bag!
