Today is the day I start fixing my face!

2026 New Year’s resolution is sort the face!

All the kids out the way and a year post partum. I look like I have crawled out of being in Victorian prison house for a decade. Self neglect has been real! Forehead wrinkles, pores, texture, elevenses. Only 35! A complete disaster.

So the face plan…

  • I am taking 11000mg Zooki collagen sachets
  • One other vitamin or electrolyte satchet a day for the next month (came as a free trial bundle with the collagen)
  • Drinking an extra 1L a day of water as I think chronically dehydrated.
  • Signed up to skin+me so awaiting that
  • I do like Elizabeth Arden hot cloth cleanser so using that atm; although have some freebies with skin+me
  • order frownies tomorrow
  • wear spf50 every day and potentially get a fringe.

If this fails and no improvement in 6 months then I am getting Botox or lasering.

Anyone else aiming for a skincare revolution this year?

Am on it!! Got collagen gummies and lacura glycolic acid that am starting tonight….

Morepositivemum · 19/01/2026 23:09

Ah I love when a my resolution gets going! Always meant to try the Elizabeth Arden cleanser. You’ll notice the spf, t actually made a huge difference for me, skin totally feels protected! Best of luck!!

BitsyBop · 19/01/2026 23:10

Not sure why I was deleted.. did say using a certain supermarket serum so would that be seen as advertising?

FuckingShitShow · 19/01/2026 23:11

I'll join you!

Similar. Off to check out the collagen - what drew you to that one OP?

Fixingmyface · 19/01/2026 23:22

Thankyou @Morepositivemum Appreciate the support! 😊 User name checks out 😂

That is weird @BitsyBop ! Usually that happens for photos to be reviewed. Maybe that 🤷‍♀️ Hopefully your comment will arrive soon as want to see your plans!

@FuckingShitShow It’s all just been a bit accidental. Everyone around me getting Botox and looking great. I don’t think my skin is even in a good enough condition to get Botox if that makes sense!

Anyway I was in Sainsburys looking at vitamins because I feel as rough as I look. And there was this magnesium sachet. Only like £1 something which is a nice change to the expensive £20 vitamins I buy and take two before they end in a cupboard never to be seen again 🤦‍♀️

Got home, downed it. Was wiped out asleep in 20 minutes! So was like hmm need more of these! Ended up on Zooki website. Saw the collagen! Got drawn into that as had a free bundle pack and had also been interested in electrolytes.

Then yesterday in car. Instagram marketing on the skin+me. £4.99 starter deal.

Basically I have just said yes to mass marketing 🤣

I rate skin and me tbf

Nutmuncher · 19/01/2026 23:26

The Ordinary glycolic toner works wonders, use after cleansing every other day preferably at night.

Hydration hydration hydration

Plenty of good sleep

No smoking, vaping or drinking- they all wreck your face

Obsessivepenguin · 19/01/2026 23:30

more sleep and water and less alcohol.

collagen, good multivitamin, fish oil.

decent moisturser, serum, peptide face oil, eye cream, neck cream, retinol and a decent facial exercise programme.

led mask a few times a week

Fixingmyface · 19/01/2026 23:33

@Crispynoodle

It looks MN approved from my quick searches so thought for price worth a shot!

@Nutmuncher Thankyou, my face does really respond to acids quite well. In the past I have tried P50, lactic acid, glycolic etc. My problem is I am shit at the consistency and will do something for a few weeks. Go ahh that looks a bit better and then forget about it for another year. Really bad at consistency for skincare!

Mad idea- looking at frownies. Does anyone know whether silicone sheets would also work? I have some molyncke Mepiform left over from my c section. 🤔 Forehead experiment? 😂

Hmm 🤔 Might be an idea then! Probably more expensive than frownies themselves though (was thinking of selling the Mepiform on eBay). Although would be more hydrating/ better for skin for regeneration if taking the collagen supplements 🧐

Will umm and ahh about this for a few days.

I gave up with all expensive face skin care 2 year ago.
I use baby soap, baby wash for the shower, baby lotion, vaseline, cerave, role on and body spray.

I have to say my skin as got better healthier feels better and glows.

silicon scar tape also does the same thing. A whole roll costs about £8

Nutrition Geeks collagen. You mix it in a hot drink and don't even notice it.

Omg dont 😂 I am now on that site thinking hmm.. could probably do with some iron and folic acid and ahhh whats this!?! Something else lol

I like that they sell mini tablets. That is very clever. I hate the capsules/ big tablets and thats why I take for a few days and then throw to back of cupboard.

Great resolution ! You just have to consistent. I have been maintaining my routine for quite sometime after some research and will share here if that provides any help:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Evening:
Cerave moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

Fixingmyface · 20/01/2026 10:58

Thank you, yes I do need to get a routine down!

I don’t know if I have gone insane but I have woken up and I swear my forehead wrinkles are already significantly decreased!! I think I have been severely dehydrated 🤦‍♀️

How long for full rehydration? Is this a days/ weeks or months process?

I’ve got good skin albeit a bit shiny. Now 41 and very few wrinkles but more than I would like. I’ve tried all the serums/acids/cleansing routines, to try and hold onto a good thing but honestly, I would suggest doing less - I’ve thrown out masses of expensive things and stick with:

Drink more water and much less alcohol

Face wash - I use cerave blemish control

Day moisturiser with SPF40 - Murad oil and pore control - this is my favourite product ever, I wear SPF whatever the weather as it’s an all in one

Night Oil - L’occataine

(and obviously never smoke or vape)

Chataigne · 20/01/2026 11:05

Tretinoin bought online is way cheaper than skin + me if it's the retinoids people are after. I'm wary of them after their 'personalised' care was identical for DD and I. That's despite the obvious differences in age and we have completely different skin types and concerns.

Glad we finally got to see it! How strange of Mn.

Very cool plan 😎 what brand of gummies did you go for?

I did try the online cheap prescription of retinol but it took my face off so I've gone back to skin and me. I just have not had any problems with it at all and I had flakiness and sore red patches with the basic stuff.

You need to start it carefully, there's a way to introduce it which will minimise the chances of that happening.

Lottapianos · 20/01/2026 12:28

'Really bad at consistency for skincare!'

I would focus on this to start with. Get a solid routine going - cleanser and remove with a flannel, a serum your skin gets on with, moisturiser if you need it, SPF every single day. Consistency really is everything

Collagen won't do you any harm, but there's no evidence that it has any effect on skin when then as a supplement. You are better off just eating more protein
