Has anyone got the Lisa Eldridge Betty palette and if so, is it as good as the influencers want you to believe?

I have it and I like the colour story, it doesn't have any mattes though. It's a mixture of duo chromes, metallics and satins of varying intensity.

There's some that make a nice one and done shade and some you might want to use alongside mattes from another palette.

You can make a whole eye look by using the satin as a base colour in place of a matte but whether you like that depends on preference. I find that's too full on for a day/work look.

I think the size is good for travel. You could take that and something like the 6 pan Patrick Ta mattes on holiday and be sorted for a range of looks.

So I think it's both very nice and a bit over hyped probably due to being a ltd ed and people waiting nearly a year for it to come back. I think very few people would hate it but if someone has Tom Ford, ND, Viseart palettes etc. in similar shades it's probably not a must either.

For @BakeOffRewatch a close up photo of the Byredo Bibliophilia palette alongside the Lancôme cafe crush.

While there is some overlap (especially of some of the brown and gold) there are lots of differences too. Most of the formulas are also different - the Lancôme mattes are traditional fairly dry mattes. Most of the byredo have some sparkle, though it goes from subtle shimmer to very sparkly. And they are mostly a much creamier texture.

Thank you for all of the suggestions to clear up my dry skin patch. I’ve not used Eight Hour cream for many years but I’m pretty certain that I have one in a BAC that I’ve not yet opened, so I’ll check my spreadsheets to see which it’s in.

The honey I found to be an interesting suggestion, I’m going to try that first! 😃

BakeOffRewatch · 04/02/2026 21:38

Thank you @AprilLady , I can see what you mean. I don’t know what’s with me today I want to buy the byredo Bibliophilia and now after @OvaHere ’s post I want to buy the Lisa Eldridge Betty! Definitely need to go to bed

Manuka honey if you can get it. It’s a great face mask too. Holland and Barrett have it

Talisin · 04/02/2026 21:58

@Thelifeofawife The John Lewis calendar had the hand cream version of EA 8 hour in it if you have that. Might be worth trying as well.

Doglover73 · 04/02/2026 22:28

My dog had a tick next to her eye and it started swelling. Removed incandescent put honey on. After an hour back to normal. Good stuff 🥰

Fillybuster · 04/02/2026 23:00

@Thelifeofawife I occasionally have similar issues around my eyes and have found the La Roche-Posat Lipikar Baume to be absolutely amazing. Fragrance free, hypo-allergenic, developed for grazes and burns - I was given it to use on sensitive skin following radiotherapy and it’s a total miracle cream!

@AprilLady thanks for the pics. The Byredo palette looks perfect. Very tempted.

Thelifeofawife · 05/02/2026 01:17

@BakeOffRewatch Thank you - it’s Manuka honey that I have in my cupboard, I’ve popped some on before bed - fingers crossed! 😃

@Talisin I have the JL BAC, I bet that’s the one I was thinking of 😊 If the honey doesn’t do the trick I’ll dig it out and give that a whirl.

@Fillybuster Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll look into that as well 😊

BlueLimes · 05/02/2026 06:56

@keepincool I ordered the box from Next with a candle to get the offer.

I’ve also had my face the future box - sane 3 items and looking forward to trying the serum.

I’ve had a horrible vinted experience- I sold a brand new immaculate product. The buyer has raised an issue saying open and used. I feel disproportionately upset that people are such cheats 😔 I’ve refunded obv. First time it’s happened - I’ve sold quite a bit from bac and boxes. Just waiting for her review - I was previously all 5* ..,

Thanks very much, I decided to go with it and had a £10 Liberty loyalty voucher I could put towards it.
I am sure I will get plenty of use from it but now need to put a stop to buying eye palettes as think I have picked up 5 new ones since Christmas.

I have had the same happen to me. I sold the Valmont mask from last year’s Harrods calendar as have a few masks and hadn’t got round to using it. It had been in my dressing table drawer unopened before posting.
When she received it she said it was used. It absolutely wasn’t- I had never even opened the lid!
I explained that it had definitely not been used and that I would never sell used skincare but I paid for her to return it. Thankfully she didn’t leave feedback but it really got to me.

BlueLimes · 05/02/2026 07:41

@pinkchampagne1 it’s really unsettling isn’t it?
Im sorry it’s happened to you too. It was only £6.. I don’t want it back. She took a pic of the lid off with the tube a bit squashed and was a bit aggressive in her message.

The universe paid me back this morning, I managed to get a free parking space 😊

keepincool · 05/02/2026 07:53

I hope you enjoy the Next box and free gift @BlueLimes . The Liz Earle toner is one of my holy grails, so I was happy with that.

Your Vinted experience with a git is one of my fears. I'm so careful with packing goods and I never list beauty products that aren't brand new and unused. I have great 5* reviews, so if anyone did lie about something I sold I'd hope that my reviews would go in my favour.

What are the buyer's reviews like? Could you report her or leave a review to warn others?

We, and the Parking Fairies, have your back 😊

AprilLady · 05/02/2026 08:03

@BlueLimes my sympathies. I’ve just had a similar experience on ebay. Sold an expensive, genuine perfume that I originally bought from Harrods. Buyer claimed it was fake and “didn’t smell of anything” which was obviously untrue. Because I am very wary of a bad review, I did pay for a return and refund the buyer but I’m out of pocket by 2 x postage costs, and what I think happened is that the buyer just didn’t like the perfume so claimed it was fake as an excuse for returning it. I also now can’t be 100% sure the genuine stuff was returned, so don’t feel I can relist it.

Buyers behaviours has definitely worsened a lot over the last year or so - I think Vinted has changed the market as there is a lot of scamming going on both sides (bad sellers and bad buyers), which makes it really hard for us genuine folk.

It happens, I have had this you get a lot of chancers on there. I sell the little perfumes in the sets and people will say its used if it's not 100% full to the top even if that's exactly how it came. I always get them to send it back, so they don't keep it for free and they have to pay return postage.

Edited

It wasn't Baccarat Rouge was it? I just cannot smell that perfume. Every time I trip off to Selfridges I have another go at trying to smell it yet others describe it as a beast. If I'd bought on Vinted or Ebay not knowing this I might think it was fake. Apparently there are some molecules that mean some people smell nothing in some perfumes.

boisdejasmin.com/2025/08/why-some-people-smell-nothing-in-baccarat-rouge-540.html

Of course they could just be a chancer with buyer's remorse, this happens a lot too. I've just had something come back to me because the buyer didn't bother collecting despite saying several times she would. It's taken over a month to come back. Really annoying.

I don’t sell much but I block buyers that don’t have effusive reviews, or ask weird questions like “would this fit my arms”. I’ll also ask a Q beforei package up once bought, like “just checking, did you see the listing said this?” and so far everyone has said yes, I really want it no worries, else I’d cancel. Just not worth the headache. I leave reviews like “great buyer” “smooth easy sale” and “accepted item immediately”

Two new CB edits

https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/c/influencers/lisa-potter-dixon/edit/shop-all/

Not found any working codes for the moment.

I also couldn’t find any codes that would work.
I have bought both as wanted a few bits from each and will sell off the bits I don’t want.

There's a couple of things I wouldn't mind but I'm going to leave it and see if they hang around long enough for a reduction or working code. I'm a bit take or leave on them so won't be that bothered if I miss out.

Same, a combo of 5 items across those boxes I'd like but I've got the WA and the 1999 items already. Might see if I can get the LM eye stick on ebay as I had that colour ages ago and it was very handy.

Interesting about the FFF boxes, thanks for those, was thinking about getting something else. I don't think my skin likes the decree though.
