It's really nice, but maybe a bit casual and a bit dull for a wedding. I agree you could dress it up with nice statement jewellery and colourful accessories and it's definitely something you'd get plenty of wear out of afterwards. But can't you find anything a bit more exciting and fitting for the occasion?
It reminds me of the time I went to a quite grand wedding and the groom's sister was wearing a skirt, blouse and cardigan of the type most people would wear to work, if there were say, a teacher. She looked perfectly fine and presentable, just underwhelming. Like she didn't want to make a particular effort or buy anything especially for the event. It was her brother.
