Shopping my wardrobe in 2026

I have committed to a buying break (no clothes in 2026) and feel miserable already 🤦‍♀️.
I’m starting this thread to cheer myself up and rediscover the clothes I already own. I have been tracking CPW for all my clothes for several years but recently it has become automatic and boring.

I would like to rediscover the joy of putting outfits together, instead of buying new things first and then figuring out how they fit together! Also being more mindful about what I wear and how I feel about it.

I use an app called Stylebook to organise my clothes, it helps but I don’t think it’s necessary. If anyone wants to join me, great 😊.

This is what I wore today:

@PeonyBlush10 yes, the scarf is Liberty, from the men’s section. It’s a small (45x45 cm) pocket square.

I got up and it was -20 outside, full sun. I jumped out of the house in a t-shirt to drink coffee in the sun, the cold blast is good for the mood and longevity, apparently.

Dressed for very cold weather today, wearing my thickest sweater and skirt.

My coat is made of “Danish tweed”. I had no idea such a thing even existed but it does deliver.

Travelling since yesterday, I am finally in the above zero temperature ranges. I quite miss the snow!

You have inspired me to wear again, this season, a vintage, pure wool, fairisle/snowflake type jumper that I’ve had tucked away for a few years.

Realise I love it again!

This makes me very happy! Winter is my favourite season because of all the knitwear and wool I can wear.

Working yesterday, it’s still cold and icy here although the -20 weather is gone for now.

The weather gets warmer slowly although it’s still more winter than spring. Yesterday’s outfit:

It was cold yesterday evening so I wore this out to the cinema with my husband. I'm trying to decide whether to buy a Hermès silk scarf but it wouldn't be until next year (I had a thread about this and lots of great advice from @CortieTat and others) so in the meantime I'm trying to wear the cheap scarves I have more often just to see if it's a look I want to lean into.

I am on holiday for a week so won’t be posting much, I am wearing the same ski clothes and comfy leggings in the evening.

You can see some of my scarves in this thread, I wore several of them recently (Cave Felem and Chorus Stellarum for sure). I try to get the most out of them in winter, autumn and spring and keep them in storage in summer.

I LOVE the pleated chambray skirt in this @CortieTat! A prize to anyone who can find me a similar one...on Vinted 😀

Thank you! Nearly all my skirts on this thread are from Vinted except for this one and the red maxi one. This one was made by a local tailor with tweed bought from fabworks. If you can sew there are similar patterns online.

I hope you're having a fantastic ski holiday @CortieTat I love skiing but always want a new outfit for my trips as there are so many great looking ski fashions but then again it's totally impractical to buy something amazing for use only one or two weeks a year.

My outfit today for bottomless brunch with a friend. Neither of us are big drinkers but we were given a Groupon we had to use. I had three cocktails and have a bit of a headache now.

3 recent outfits worn recently. With a very welcome dose of sunshine. I actually sat in the sun in shorts & a t shirt for a couple of hours ☀️
