I think a Cartier Tank watch - but what other watches can I lust over?

I think the Bvlgari Serpenti and Patek Philippe rose gold and diamond would be the top of my list 🤤

Teddleshon1 · 06/01/2026 09:08

The entire Hermes shop.

MorrisZapp · 06/01/2026 09:20

Ooh I'd buy a vintage ring from the shops in York, they twinkle at me like sweeties whenever I visit. I just love the idea of the stories behind each piece. I can only wear plain rings day to day as stones drive me mad but I'd treasure it and wear it for special occasions.

BCBird · 06/01/2026 09:22

I would have my shoes hand made- ooh relief .

Redcrayons · 06/01/2026 09:40

A Chanel bag and I’m not even a fancy handbag kind of girl.
the Tiffany engagement ring I really wanted.

Diamond studs and a diamond tennis bracelet.
Burberry trench, even though I’ve given away every (non Burberry) trench I’ve ever owned because Theyre not me, I still want one.

and I’d replace my entire winter jumper collection with cashmere.

and adding to my list after seeing another post, handmade shoes.

MokaEfti · 06/01/2026 09:42

Van Gogh’s Starry Night!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/01/2026 09:44

I have never understood the love of expensive watches. A tan leather strap and numbers big enough to read is all I ever desire.

I need to google what a tennis bracelet is to see if I want one!

Bordeuxkitchen · 06/01/2026 09:46

A Birkin in tan with Gold hardware….

A plunge pool.
A London taxi.
A fully fruit bearing kiwi fruit vine.
Watermelon every day.
An art studio.

TabbyMcTattle · 06/01/2026 11:09

Cartier Santos watch
An Hermes silk scarf
A cashmere jumper for every day of the week (not far off this goal!)

evtheria · 06/01/2026 11:38

A vintage watch

CoastOfXmasPast · 06/01/2026 11:53

@SparklyGreenTiger I have saved up for months and added birthday money and finally bought black brass lock Bayswater. It arrived last night and I am absolutely in love it it, its function over form, it will last me next 20 years exactly until retirement. I have never bought anything that expensive except wedding my wedding ring and still can’t quite believe it. Not bragging, but just wanted to share the joy with someone who appreciate the bag itself.

My dream items would be Mulberry tote in oak, long necklace Akoya pearls and Mappin&Webb diamond hoops.

Nobody has mentioned necklaces. Which necklaces would everyone buy?

MsAmerica · 06/01/2026 23:41

If money were no object I wouldn't spend it on clothing. I'd buy antique jewelry.

I wear necklaces most (out of all jewellery options) but I don’t have many ideas of expensive ones I’d buy, more one-off delicate pieces by indie makers… The big diamond classics (Bvlgari etc) aren’t actually the sort of thing I’d wear… but I think I could stretch myself to purchase a few off Dorsey GrinGlitterball Not anything exciting but I could wear them everyday. With my insanely expensive vintage watch, of course.

A mid 60s Wolsley 1500. I would love one.

and lots of vintage clothes to match the era.

Good choice! Wolsley's are so sweet.

stillnoideawhatimdoing · 07/01/2026 13:35

An amazing grand piano (as obvs would have the space in my amazing house) and the lessons to learn how to play it!

Serenster · 07/01/2026 13:39

A Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso watch
A 1955 Gucci horse bit bag in tan leather
A MaxMara camel coat

I can dream…!

Elizabethandfour · 07/01/2026 16:40

A private plane. The ultimate in luxury. Arrive at your plane by car, get on and jet off. No queuing, waiting around 3 hours or weighing your luggage.

Jugendstiel · 07/01/2026 16:46

A Burberry trenchcoat (if they are still well made. I am not so sure these days.)
A really beautiful classic tweed coat.
A friend has a classic silver and gold metal strap women's Rolex. I'd love a similar one.

Miranda65 · 07/01/2026 16:57

A Vermeer painting.
Or a Hockney, as he's rather more prolific!

Oh wow. Because this was on Style & Beauty, I was only thinking of fashion. But if we can include house decor in Style - there are several Van Goghs, Hiroshiges, Gerhardt Richters and Michael Andrews' paintings I have wanted to own for most of my life.

Then I'd need a massive house in St James's to hang them in.

TabbyMcTattle · 07/01/2026 17:09

Oh yes I'd love a Matisse! Or even, a Monet 😂
