Too many fakes exist to make buying a real Chanel flap worth while. Such a shame as they are ten a penny in my local city on a Saturday night.

A few years ago I saw a gorgeous Colombian emerald with a yellow gold rope twist setting. It sold before I could give it serious consideration and if I had the money and patience I’d have someone track it down and offer whatever it took to secure it.

It is the most beautiful gold. It’s old rose gold really - or welsh gold sometimes called. It’s gold mixed with copper without any silver.

Modern rose gold has mainly silver added and it’s very pale. Red gold is like normal gold but warmer toned than straight yellow.
