Sophisticated - expensive Christmas jumper?

Am fed up with buying a new Christmas jumper each year and it always looking rubbish! I am prepared to invest money in a lovely piece of knitwear to last me. I am looking for something with some sparkle, preferably in a cool toned colour such as proper white, navy, light grey, charcoal etc - not browns.

Can anyone recommend one?

This is at least mohair & silk & cashmere. Everything seems to be cream/off-white rather than white as per your preference, OP - but I do think this lacy style of jumper is Christmassy-looking.

This is not an investment peace as such at £40, but the style is quite timeless.

And at least the M&S one above has 10% wool for £40 ...!!

The only way I can imagine a Christmas jumper ever being remotely elegant and sophisticated would be to buy something like a red or dark green cashmere jumper and go for some subtle festive accessories eg a silk scarf with robins on. But I hate Christmas jumpers. And Christmas.

I got two on Vinted last year for a good price. Very happy with them.

I have one of these. Have had it years - it has worn v well, sparkles are relatively subtle but still enough to look like you’ve made a Christmas jumper day effort and can wear at other times too

Donkeys years ago I got this gold sequin jumper from Monsoon. It's much nicer than in the photos, the neck is quite wide and scooped lower at the back, and the ribbon ties at the back. Really pretty on, and I sized up so it's a bit drapey rather than fitted. It's definitely earned its money over the years.

I bought a wine cloured cashmere jumper from Lily Silk, but it's more like angora - very fluffy and super soft with long wide sleeves. Not sparkly but had loads of compliments and people keep saying it's a lovely Christmas jumper so I've decided it passes for one. Very tasteful.

Agree with the quality of these jumpers, both SIL and I have one, she wears it more in autumn whereas I’m December but it’s so soft.

Not from the UK but what is a jumper?

I’ve got a Breton top with a robin on it that says festive greetings or something like that. It was from joules or crew company.

It’s a jersey, thick top made traditionally with wool but now mostly synthetic fibres. It’s warm and worn in the winter .
