What cup size do you think this is? (not an obscene photo)

Hoping that the picture won't get blocked (it's just taken from the skims website). I am about to have a breast reduction for medical reasons and am struggling to visualise what the various sizes will actually look like - clearly I appreciate I'm not going to look like the model!!

In my head this is about a C?

Im trying to see what a B would look like. I'm a size 10.

I’m amazed how many people still think the solution to a bra feeling tight is to get a bigger band, rather than that they may need bigger cups.

It’s because all of the years of M&S fittings and being told that katie price is a “huge 34DD”
I can sleep happily in my 34 band and I’m an 18 so it never makes sense a size 10 finds a 34 band too tight

Pryceosh1987 · 04/12/2025 23:46

It looks A c

Exactly. We have ended up with a situation where people think f cups are ginormous, when they are perfectly average. Women with genuinely large breasts are a lot larger than this. Grin

See also Pamela Anderson, who was widely described as a 36DD before she had her implants removed. She was probably more like a 28J.

Would say e or f

LinedOverLatte · 05/12/2025 09:55

@user746016 I’m the same age and was measured using the ‘old’ method at a 34B years ago and using the same method, as a 34C recently. The C cup is a much better sized boob than my B cup was (non existent really).

I don’t know what I’d be in the newer way of measuring - a good old M&S 34C fits well and my boobs are in proportion to my size 10 frame.

Not sure how much help this will be, except to say a B cup isn’t much boob, and a C cup looks a lot better.

Could you put your own naked photo into AI and ask it to size you down and ‘lift’ the bread position? ChatGPT is my preferred AI app but there are others.

Blablasheep · 05/12/2025 16:26

I'm a size 8/10 on top and wear band size 34. Anything smaller feels really uncomfortable.
I'd say she's either 32C or 34B.

It's also confused by the fact that smaller breasts can be perfectly comfortable in the old sizing method (and let's face it 34B is a hell of a lot easier to purchase than 30E) so many women have no need to change measuring technique.

I think women with larger breasts aren't driven by vanity as suggested, but often by pain. The tighter band may take a little getting used to, but if it eliminates the crippling shoulder pain that you were unable to shift for years, it's worth it.

LongOutBreath · 05/12/2025 17:12

Not linking it, but m and s website has instructions for measuring your size at home that don't ask you to add four inches.
I thought they were famous for this?

FerrisWheelsandLilacs · 05/12/2025 17:38

looks similar to me, I’m 30E/32DD

user746016 · 03/12/2025 08:55

Ive always worn a 34D in a stretchy bra

If you are a 34 underboob there is no point comparing yourself to the woman in the photo as she looks smaller than me.

I'm a 30DD and so I would guess the woman in the picture at at least 28DD maybe E.

Sparklesandspandexgallore · 06/12/2025 06:28

I would have guessed at D cup but can see I may be way off the mark.
I agree with everyone saying we have been fed the lie that DD plus is huge. I have just bought 2 bras size 36 H. I feel like man mountain. I’m a size 16. Somethings a 14 top. Even when I was a size 8 top I needed a DD bra.

firstofallimadelight · 06/12/2025 06:39

This is a 32 B

ContentedAlpaca · 06/12/2025 09:08

I went from a badly fitting 34c to a well fitting 32 DD once I was measured properly. She actually wanted me in 30e but that felt like a step too far.

iSage · 06/12/2025 09:13

I would say D or DD cup for that photo. She's a model - she's unlikely to have naturally broad frame and ribs, and there's no fat on her underbust, so her back size will be on the smaller side and her boobs do stick out a good three inches.

lljkk · 06/12/2025 09:31

there's nothing I can see to tell me the woman in OP;s pictures (is that a real woman or just AI gen image??) isn't 6'3" so I can't say how tiny her band is or not.

Front on you can't really see boob size either.

I know I have modest size boobs (or small, even) & they are ruddy E-F cups. Which is nuts to me, tbh!! I ordered 32E bras last time coz I was convinced 30 band would give me nausea. Actually, in retrospect, I might have been ok with the 30s.

Maybe work in ml, OP? Or "handfuls" or half-circumference in cm. All things a surgeon could measure for you.

firstofallimadelight · 06/12/2025 06:39

This is a 32 B

This is probably a good example of why a lot of people don’t understand bra sizes.

That tiny model does not have a 32 inch rib cage. I’d start at 28 and wouldn’t be surprised if that was too big.
