Holland & Barrett Advent calendar opening

Following the general beauty Advent calendar posts, I wondered if anyone would like a H&B opening one? Usually post after 7am so no spoilers.

I start Paw Paw with enthusiasm then forget completely about them! Never had overnight one before so will give it a go.

I am using it as a moisturising lip salve - it's one of the winners.
On the night cream yesterday, I find I have to cleanse my face the next morning or it makes my make up pill.

SpiralSister · 11/12/2025 16:38

Quite looking forward to trying this one!

Piemam · 12/12/2025 09:22

I know this is generally thought of as a boring Advent item, but will try them out. Anyone else use them and can comment?

I use them a lot and I seem to now own about 3000! I find these small ones are good for removing eye make up but are a little small for the full face stuff

Costacoffeeplease · 12/12/2025 11:13

Yes I use them every day. Have lots from different calendars/beauty boxes

Labradorsmum · 12/12/2025 17:01

I wondered why the H & B calendar wasn’t being mentioned on the ‘waifs and strays’ thread! Have the calendar (my first ever BAC) so following this thread now. Enjoying the products so far- except the Wild soap, have tonnes of soap already so will pass this on.

AmicaNemica · 12/12/2025 17:26

Ah the make remover pads? Actually just use them for toner and then rinse them out. I guess it halves use of cotton wool pads.

lozzerjam650 · 12/12/2025 20:08

These pads are bloody good though, albeit a bit of an unexciting open. But they will replace some of my well-used ones!

Q+A body scrub - pleased with this, I use scrubs and I really like this brand’s body lotion.

starlight36 · 13/12/2025 18:07

I’m pleased with this too. I haven’t used Q&A body care products before but really like their face products.

greywolfie · 14/12/2025 08:16

Another rattle, another DoD for me. I have this year's Biotin to go with last year's.
I'll try and give these away but not sure who'd take them and I don't think I can donate them anywhere?
At least we've not had any little bottles of essential oil yet- we used to get a few of those!

lozzerjam650 · 14/12/2025 22:45

Yes, today’s was a duff for me. Not sure if I’ll even be able to pass on either.

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 14/12/2025 22:48

Today's not exciting but I'll use them - last year I took these in January and thought I noticed a marginal improvement in my hair, but not enough to buy any more.

Labradorsmum · 15/12/2025 18:11

Like today’s shampoo bar. I’m a fan of Faith in Nature anyway and this might be handy when travelling for work- although I’ll need to get some sort of container to keep it in between uses.

Piemam · 16/12/2025 08:03

Bit underwhelmed with today's item, mainly because we got shampoo yesterday! Continuation fail there. But looks like a nice enough product, might pass this on to my adult kid though.

OP posts:
starlight36 · 16/12/2025 11:27

I had the same thoughts about back to back shampoos. May also pass on. It is a decent size for travelling.

greywolfie · 17/12/2025 00:13

Got to say, after being rude about Dr Pawpaw, I'm really liking the lip mask! Seems to be working well for me.
Still not a fan of his other stuff though.

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 17/12/2025 07:12

Does anyone in the world need more than one scalp massager? DoD today, I would pass it on but can’t think who might want it!

greywolfie · 17/12/2025 10:53

Yeah disappointed in today's. We got this last year and it's not the type of thing that loses its power after 12 months!

Piemam · 18/12/2025 08:08

I guessed it was toothpaste so I wasn't disappointed- I know it is practical rather than a treat but I use this brand and it isn't cheap! So good to have one in reserve. Curious about the whitening claim though.

LetitSnowball · 18/12/2025 08:41

We all knew today’s was coming.

This will be my final year of H&B. After buying it for a few years now I usually find around one staple product a year that I likely never would have discovered without the calendar.

BUT one decent item out of 24 no longer feels worth it and I’ve had a year of declutterring so items like the past couple of days just feel wasteful.

greywolfie · 18/12/2025 11:17

It's toothpaste day! I will try and use it but, will then get side tracked by my family's mintier options (they won't touch this after being scarred by the cinnamon last year).
A H&B advent without toothpaste would be like a stocking without a satsuma 😁

greywolfie · 19/12/2025 07:14

Great. Another deodrant. Straight after toothpaste day. Great.

AmicaNemica · 19/12/2025 08:56

I really liked this deodorant - in fact used it up because I opened the calendar early. I tried to buy a refill but I think you might need to order online because I didn't see any stock.
So far, I repurchased Biotin, my nails have improved 100% and really like paw paw lip mask as a moisturiser under lipstick, after blotting. The toothpaste will be a stocking filler.
I already mentioned the hair stuff has been passed on.
