What do we think of these boots

What do we think of these boots to dress up jeans and a jumper in a comfy kind of way? Too much? Or ok? www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/f-mode-stack-leather-chelsea-boots-p-E2J#090

I’d go flying in them- they remind me of those space x tense boots.

I wouldn't, the Customs people would be drilling holes in the soles to see if you are trying to smuggle drugs or explosives.

Ohmypigeons · 08/11/2025 17:53

I love them! Thinking of buying them now!! I’m 49 and will wear them with jeans and leggings and jumper dresses 😍

Jellicoo · 08/11/2025 18:17

I read dressing up in a comfy way then the link came up like this on my phone... Personally I am not quite ready for full on Muppet theming. I thought you'd all gone mad or I am getting very very old😂

Not for me. Look ugly

BunnyLake · 08/11/2025 19:06

They look very clompy. Also wouldn’t like the idea of them being pull ons, too hard to get on and off.

CountryMouse22 · 08/11/2025 19:41

Clodhoppers or what?!

ohyesido · 08/11/2025 19:52

Not for me, too clompy

Neveranynamesleft · 08/11/2025 19:59

Too much platform, not nice, just look odd. It's a no from me.

faustina · 08/11/2025 20:01

@Squash34 - I don't think they look as good as the lower Fitflop boots, but they did send me a discount code for this weekend only - 22% SDAY22 so am passing it onto you

FullOfMomsense · 08/11/2025 20:03

I love platform boots but these look ridiculous. They look like they didn't finish making them!

Even if I wear both boots….🤭
oh girls I’m just so fed up not being able to wear nice shoes. I have the lower version of these boots which are amazing. Expensive but Fitflops always have offers and I literally buy only a couple of pairs of shoes a year. I just fancied the extra height as I’m short. I appreciate all your replies and honesty X

Look at Rieker, they're orthopaedic

Boris Karloff, Frankenstein 1931

Boris played the Monster 😉

I like them

Caplin · 08/11/2025 20:46

Obviously, you do you. Personally a hard no for me, they are fugly. But maybe with the right wardrobe….

i have Vivaia boots and they are super comfy.

I think they’re worth ordering and trying with your jeans. It’s hard to see what they’d be like with a normal outfit and seen from a more ordinary angle. Give them a try, if they’re awful send them back.

A friend who struggles with shoes has just ordered a pair of Lanx because she says they have walking boot soles (Vibram). Would they be worth a look? Also Birkenstock have started making boots, too.

Thank you all for your honest opinions and suggestions too XX

I have these, and in the tan suede too.
I have Achilles issues and have had plantar fasciitis so nearly all my footwear is FitFlop and renders me pain free.
I agree with others they do look a bit ugly from some angles, and the black more so than the tan ones but I like them with straight jeans and a big jumper, loose shirts etc and they are so so comfortable and I can walk miles.
No ankle wobble, they feel really stable but when I take one off I really thump down to floor level with that foot before I get the other one off 😁 they really are quite high.

Thank you for the replies. Ive really bad feet and 90% shoes are out of the question. They are orthopaedic/ very comfy and I just liked the extra height they gave me as I can’t wear heels. I couldn’t decide if they just were too much of a statement or if they could be worn more low key on a casual night out with a shorter barrel leg jeans and chunky jumper. Perhaps just too much of a platform though…

Has a podiatrist recommended them to you? Or this brand (I know it says podiatrists approve but you should check before, I think, if these are right for you, before spending £170). Style-wise I imagine them more for younger women in the manner of wearing really ugly clothes thereby highlighting their youth and beauty. If you're not in your 20s, these boots will look eccentric and/or just pure ugly. Fine to be eccentric as an older woman, but do be aware that that's the path you're taking.

DeadBee · 09/11/2025 00:17

Fugly.

I know and see plenty of women over 50 in this style of boot because they are comfortable and in my opinion, go with everything. I’m one of them and got a pair last year in the Cos sale reduced from £290 to £85. Super comfortable and unlikely ever to wear out

TheLemonOtter · 09/11/2025 07:31

Well I like them! I love a clumpy boot and fitflop are usually v comfy. The lower ones are fine but a lot more boring (no shade, I have a nearly identical timberland pair!). I think you need to try them irl, they might be awful but they could be great!

Daphnedot · 09/11/2025 09:39

Very Baby Spice

trayceeeee · 09/11/2025 11:04

I love them! But they fit my style well. I'd wear them with black skinny jeans, black t-shirt with a print on and a leather or or cropped puffer jacket.

RememberBeKindWithKaren · 09/11/2025 15:00

Someone would need to pay me much more than £170 before I agreed to wear those boots

PolkaDotPorridge · 09/11/2025 15:10

Herman Munster wants his boots back. Dreadful.
