What do we think of these boots

What do we think of these boots to dress up jeans and a jumper in a comfy kind of way? Too much? Or ok? www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/f-mode-stack-leather-chelsea-boots-p-E2J#090

They must look silly or they would show a model standing normally, to show how they complement an outfit.
I too love chunky boots, but these do not look like boots that you could walk distances in.
Probably feel like slippers when you try them on, but not for walking around town.

Sorry, but I agree that they look like a medical aid boot. Any others you like?

CoubousAndTourmaIet · 08/11/2025 11:21

Think it depends on your style. If you favour darks or sludgy colours and can pull off arty/grunge/goth style they'd be perfect.

Sparklesandspandexgallore · 08/11/2025 07:49

For me it would depend on how comfortable they are. If not extremely comfy then no, I’d go for something more stylish.
Ugly type shoes need to be comfortable Iyswim.

This. They’re extremely ugly. Which needs to be compensated for (with comfort and practicality). Seeing as they don’t seem to be particularly practical (twisted ankles ahoy) they’d need to be unbelievably comfortable…

Squash34 · 08/11/2025 12:09

Even if I wear both boots….🤭
oh girls I’m just so fed up not being able to wear nice shoes. I have the lower version of these boots which are amazing. Expensive but Fitflops always have offers and I literally buy only a couple of pairs of shoes a year. I just fancied the extra height as I’m short. I appreciate all your replies and honesty X

I love watching the computer graphic video, very mesmerising. Are they really comfortable? I have terrible problems finding a non walking boot that looks smart that can cope with the amount of hills I have to walk up and down because of issues with my feet being pushed forwards and socks slipping down. If they’re comfortable for you, go for it.

00PrettyHateMachine00 · 08/11/2025 12:11

Too plain and boring, plain black boots. Pretty much all my shoes are statement. But that's personally for me.

Otherwise they're ok. A basic chelsea boot with a large platform, hardly scandalous.

MaggieBsBoat · 08/11/2025 12:13

I like platforms. But these look like those boots worn years ago by people with club feet or leg length discrepancy.

If you like them, wear them! Especially if they’re comfortable as well.
I find them ugly. But I wouldn’t be the one wearing them. 🤷‍♀️

RampantIvy · 08/11/2025 12:23

I also have tricky feet and wear footwear that many posters on S snd B would sneer at, but I really don't like those boots. They are far too chunky, I wouldn't be able to drive in them and I don't need the extra height.

Purplecatshopaholic · 08/11/2025 13:17

I have non-platform fit flop boots. Love them. Great for my plantar fasciitis. I like these too.

EmotionallyWeird · 08/11/2025 14:34

I quite like them and I can tell you from experience that FitFlops are extremely comfortable. Personally, I'd choose tan or brown to go with jeans, unless you only ever wear black jeans!

LadySuzanne · 08/11/2025 14:42

Ugly.

NormaMajors1992coat · 08/11/2025 15:24

I like them and I usually find Fitflop a bit middle of the road and boring. I would definitely wear them if I could get them on and off ok. But I do like clothes and shoes that are a bit odd/different and I love a platform (have a pair of Buffalo trainers for example). Lots of people in my professional / social circles would wear them or similar and would think the alternative ones someone posted are really dull. Get em OP!

TheChosenTwo · 08/11/2025 15:30

Oh no, they’re quite dumpy looking, very shapeless and clunky without being nice.
Sorry! there are a few dupes floating about of Claudia’s bottega boots if that’s the look you’re after but I’m afraid these are not it 🫣

RoamingToaster · 08/11/2025 16:43

I think they’re ok. I don’t think you’ll standout. Like others say they could be worn well if your going for a certain alternative look.

GammonAndEgg · 08/11/2025 16:48

I am 55. I have them and I love them! I wear them with dresses and tights or cropped trousers.

Snowflakecentral · 08/11/2025 16:50

What do we think of these boots?
Well, tbh they are awful, can't think of any other word to describe them.

Picklelily99 · 08/11/2025 17:27

Well there's platforms, and then there's those that look like the big, clunky, surgical boots people wore who had one leg shorter than the other! You can guess the rest! Sorry, for me they're too much, but hey, what do I know, and if you love them then enjoy! Don't be dissuaded from what you like.

Horses7 · 08/11/2025 17:31

I’d find it hard to pay £170 for a pair of boots even if they are Fitflops. I’ve got Fitflop wellies but they were half price in the sale and a fraction of £170.
My upbringing has a profound affect on what I’m willing to pay to pay for certain items. However I’ve paid a fortune for a designer handbag(s) (Boxing Day sales) and quality watches - but see these has an investment that my daughters will have one day.
For most stuff I prefer a bargain!

RuncibleSpoons · 08/11/2025 17:36

Fabulous if you’re going to a fancy dress party dressed as Herman Munster.

Our 90 year old neighbour had polio as a child and wears something similar on one foot.

Why do FitFlop start with an ok idea and then get it so utterly wrong?

gbd31 · 08/11/2025 17:44

I just bought fitflop boots from M&M with fur inside. They are so comfy & prices are half what the official store has. Maybe worth a punt for there to see how they feel on? https://www.mandmdirect.com/02/fts/?search=fitflop+boots

gbd31 · 08/11/2025 17:48

Sorry it didn’t like my photo! I have these & they’re lovely on my 58 year old feet
