What do you think of these trainers?

I'm having a bloody nightmare finding stylist but super comfortable white trainers. I started a thread on it but it didn't get much traction 😥

I've found these today - what do you think?

I'm slightly cringing at Pavers (I'm only 40) but I'm getting pretty hacked off trying to find a pair that looks good and is really comfortable.

I wholeheartedly recommend Adidas Spezials. Great colour combos and they are like walking on clouds ☁️ after suffering from plantar fasciitis after pregnancy, these are a god send!! If you don’t find them comfortable I’ll eat my hat!

neverevergonnaeatkale · 20/10/2025 23:10

I’m glad you’re rethinking them, OP. They are awful! There are so many stylish choices: Adidas, Hoff, Nike, Veja, Onitsuka Tiger, On Cloud. Step away from the Pavers right now!!!

AnnaPhylax · 20/10/2025 23:18

They are great if you’re 70+ and off to Benidorm for the Winter!
Try Kate Spade trainers

ummmmm........... what is it with Pavours? I don't know the brand & can't remember seeing a shop but am getting negative vibes here! are they to be avoided?

Mumwithbaggage · 20/10/2025 23:41

Loving "fun grandma" and I also love that we all like (or dislike) different stuff.

Trainers are hard to choose especially if you overthink like me - currently waiting for some sambas and spezials to be delivered. I'm 61 and am way off looking at Pavers!

Mumwithbaggage · 20/10/2025 23:42

@sofaRunner they sell Pavers at garden centres. Enough said as far as I'm concerned!

Finallyfree41 · 20/10/2025 23:54

Nike P6000. The most comfortable trainers I have EVER worn and they are also the height of fashion at the minute according to my 17 year old that works in Footasylum.

Itsjustafly · 20/10/2025 23:55

They're honestly dreadful so I'm glad you've reconsidered. I'm also 40 and would never wear those or the sketchers, they're what my mother in law would wear, she's a 'trendy gran', I also buy all of my mum's shoes from Pavers and she's in a care home so it's not exactly a glowing recommendation.
Adidas campus or Japans are my go to, I also have new balance 9060 but I only like them with joggers or leggings, although they're so comfortable. Some of the Pumas suggested have also been nice.

Cinaferna · 21/10/2025 00:10

OP, I really don't like the original ones you posted - the glitter and charm are very try-hard (and actually the sort of thing Skechers used to do a lot. It's like Per Una adding frills and sequins to otherwise stylish clothes. Just too much.

How about these Hoff ones ? Hoff are very comfortable but not hated in the way Skechers are.

RampantIvy · 21/10/2025 07:21

I don't understand the sneering at Pavers and Skechers. Yes, they have some ugly footwear, but so do all the big "fashionable" brands.

I reckon that if you removed the logo from all trainers that many people wouldn't know if they were wearing a brand they despise. Skechers make a lot of trainers that look very similar to brands that the fashion police would approve of.

I don't like garish footwear BTW.

BeerOrStout · 21/10/2025 07:35

I only wear white trainers with summer clothes, not when the weather is cold and wet.

It's your choice but in general I think darker clothes and wetter weather needs darker footwear.

I don't wear dark clothes in winter though 😅 I like bright clothes all year round and shoes with a bit of bling to them. I bought these a few years back - I absolutely adore them but they're murder on my feet.

What about Veja?

I really don't like Veja at all. They're so boring.

Thanks for all your input.

I'm a massive over-thinker and ridiculously unimportant stuff like this gets me stressed.

I think I'll keep the NB 370s and just go with that. It's not exactly what I want and I'm worried about leaking but they're comfortable and quite funky so they'll do!

I think the original trainers you posted are cute, fun, sweet. It depends what overall look you are going for though, how you want to look.

I'm not sure I would describe any trainer of any brand style of colour as 'stylish'. They're functional, comfy and they can look cute, funky, fun with the right outfit or they can look a bit crap and maybe make you seem older than you are. However, I think it's great that trainers can acceptably be worn with most clothing now, as it means women who simply can't wear heels or restrictive footwear can now still enjoy wearing pretty dresses and skirts while still being able to move about and go places.

I know it's hard when you're not confident in your choices, but if you like them, if they make you happy, you wear them!

These are incredible. LIGHTER WARM - KG KURT GEIGER Sneakers

I've got a pair of KGs though - not particularly comfortable!

I really don't get the Skechers hate, i've been wearing them since my 20s, they're comfortable and stylist.. i just avoid the fuck ugly ones.

ATM the pair of trainers i have are my foot saviours as i have PF because of awful gait issues from my disability.

Why don’t you try Woden trainers? Comfy, scandi stylish trainers with cork footbeds and they’re environmentally friendly. I have two pairs and I love them, including a gold pair I get lots of compliments on. They make me happy to look at when I’m wearing them on grey days 😊

The most comfy trainers ever are moda in pelle. I honestly have nothing to do with the company- they are like slippers and they cant look too bad either as I always get asked where they are from. I work on my feet a lot and I just love them.

efeslight · 21/10/2025 14:53

I like the Mint Velvet ones recommended earlier.

CharlieKirkRIP · 21/10/2025 14:56

Pavers = perfect for the trendy Nan look.
