Anyone else just blah about buying what’s on offer this season?

So far I’ve bought a red jumper from Hush, and a knitted dress from Jigsaw and I think I’m done.

I ordered and returned a few items and I think I just CBA and will wear what I’ve got.

In fact I’ve sold more things on Vinted than buying new or 2nd hand. I’m culling big time. Anything I’m not using is going.

Anyone else done with Autumn/ winter before it’s even got going?

I do buy stuff every season if what’s in the shops/on trend is what I like. I haven’t bought a lot this season yet as I have quite a lot of khaki, dark brown, etc in my wardrobe already. I would love a chocolate suede bag but am swithering as to which one. I did treat myself to a trench coat as it’s so bloomin delicious, lol

My go-to store of Fatface is absolutely awful this year, well, since Next took it over. Just noticed yet another sale too (normally shops save it for Black Friday). I had a quick look around online for other stores and there is little to tempt me. Tops too short, jumpers too (who wants a short jumper, so bum and back get cold?!). Least it's saving the pennies!

I am loving all the burgundy but not the styles so much.

Since September I have bought three bags, a scarf and two short sleeve jumpers. I need new trousers/jeans but I'm hard to fit, could also really do with a new winter coat.

I haven't seen anything I like but burgundy doesn't suit me. It's all very lacklustre & samey.

freedo · 23/10/2025 18:26

As a PP said, if you don't like this year's stuff you've had it as all the shops are the same.

This is what I hate about the homogeneity of the high street now. Shops rarely have their own handwriting anymore? it's just the same trends everywhere.

I am loving all the burgundy and purple that is about this autumn. I have bought a few bits but I am poor so mine have come from Asda and Tesco 😆

I like the colours - I’m just not inspired by the shapes

I’m surprised there’s so much hate for brown / beige / khaki etc. I absolutely love it! I guess we’re all different but I am really enjoying the current trends at the moment. I’ve got several jumpers from New Look and Next and some really lovely comfortable wide leg corduroy brown trousers from Next. I’m 45 and haven’t really enjoyed any of the “in” things until recently.

Snap! I just got a pair of wide leg corduroy brown trousers, only mine were leftovers from last season (it's spring here) so I got them on sale price 😀
I love brown/beige/khaki etc., all the earthy tones - even though I've always been a blue girl.

I've tried wide leg jeans several times and they never suited me so I didn't have high hopes of the cord trousers, but they look great. I'm assuming it's the softer material.

I’ve bought a few new bits - boots, coat, trousers.

Not a great selection of colours and fabrics these days. Every shop very samey.

I’ve struggled with dresses for a few years, too. Massively long and shapeless, or too short and tight. I bought a ‘midi’ dress online from Mango recently and had to return it as it was huge, shapeless and almost at my ankles. I’m 5’11!
