Morning!
A new thread. Autumn beckons, lets hope we get some interesting looks to discuss!

Meghan's has a nice silhouette, high neck, midi skirt with a split.

Anne meeting the Australian Governor General in Sydney. I’d bet my house that is not a new outfit on Anne. Nice colour for an Australian spring though.

And the mens’ trousers are puddling as they are too long. I don’t get it - there’s no way Tim wears those trousers with different heel heights like women might so not having the length adjusted just looks lazy.

Yes, his trousers are too long. Anne's dress looks like silk. I like the colour and the shaping round the waist.

Afaik@ChouxDiana had a green maternity dress with a similar collar.

Emerald green with spots on is the outfit I am picturing in my head.

deeahgwitch · 09/11/2025 09:22

Yes I just googled. Apologies I can’t do links.
It’s more a blue green than emerald green

My first thought on seeing the photo someone posted of Kate was ‘Diana maternity dress’. I am sure there was at least one with a big white collar. A white accent seems a strange choice as all black even in varying textures is the norm at this event - lace, satin etc. Camilla is wearing sequins! - but in this photo of her leaving which is a bit clearer she also has a peplum. Perhaps she is on a mission to bring back the 80s?

Edited

In this picture I thought Kate was singing into a mic at first!

Maireas · 09/11/2025 09:34

Great pictures, @IDareSay . I like the June 82 ones, she looked lovely in pink.
I also liked the May 84 one - the white evening dress.

Anne’s dress is lovely, very flattering shape. As for the trousers, maybe he forgot his belt! Tim isn’t a working royal is he so maybe he doesn’t have any wardrobe assistance. But even my DH, who is casual and very far removed from royalty takes too long smart trousers to an alterations place. Or gets them altered when he buys them (Slaters).

That dress is awful, I half-expect Kate to accessorise with a wimple! I think she needs a new stylist as she seems to have lost her way a bit since Natasha left.

Edited

This, exactly. She’s worn some absolute shockers lately.

Choux · 09/11/2025 09:56

So what will Kate wear today? She has previously repeated some hats and coats but I think George might attend today as he was there last night and that she will have a brand new hat and coat. But I could be wrong - she has done a lot of repeats in 2025 so maybe her outfit is in this article.

Anne's gloves seem quite retro these days as I'm not sure any of the other royals wear them anymore. Is she ever knowingly ungloved?? Perhaps that's the secret to her stalwartness - she never transfers germs onto her hands so rarely gets ill!

Maireas · 09/11/2025 09:58

Anne seems to be the only one! More effective than sanitiser 😊

OP posts:
bluegreygreen · 09/11/2025 10:04

I think the Duchess of Gloucester sometimes wears gloves - most recently at the summer garden party?

Like Catherine's dress, including the collar, but not the peplum. Meghan's outfit looks great on her, but matching separate black fabrics can be tricky. Think Anne's outfit is great.

deeahgwitch · 09/11/2025 10:15

Yes , @Chouxthat is the one I was thinking about too.
What colour would you call the dress ?

Choux · 09/11/2025 10:16

App the late Princess Diana "abandoned the royal protocol of wearing gloves because she liked to hold hands when visiting people or shake hands and have direct contact", according to Eleri Lynn, curator of the Kensington Palace exhibit Diana: Her Fashion Story.

but almost everyone wore or carried gloves at the late QEII’s funeral.

Sidebeforeself · 09/11/2025 11:29

Kate in an adapted re-wear. Not keen on the hat but she looks good

Choux · 09/11/2025 11:50

It’s the coat from 2022 with a brand new (I think) hat. I liked the asymmetrical detailing on the coat as it was previously worn. The new lace swag covers it up. She also seems to have a ruff effect dress or sweater underneath - perhaps the lace is partly to cover up the ‘join’ of the coat and the other garment.

Yes, it does look like the same coat with the jabot added.

OP posts:
Choux · 09/11/2025 11:54

I have never heard the word jabot. It’s a bit dandy highwayman. More 80s!

Sidebeforeself · 09/11/2025 12:23

I prefer her look in 2022. Cleaner lines and more dramatic.

She should've paired it with the first hat in the link you posted for even more of a Dick Turpin vibe!

BlouseyBrowne · 09/11/2025 12:38

What the heck is that black lace thing Kate’s wearing? She’s really wearing some odd things.

Camilla looked great - very chic.
