A new thread. Autumn beckons, lets hope we get some interesting looks to discuss!

I've got my tickets for the exhibition next year. I suspect I will mostly be looking at everything thinking how tiny she was.

I think in Angela Kelly's book she mentioned taking stuff to charity shops in Scotland.

So somewhere around Balmoral there are farmers mucking out pigs or collecting eggs in one of the late Queen's headscarves - and middle class women rocking up to their book groups ready to brag about snaffling a genuine silk scarf for pennies...

No I think she said they went to charity shops in the cities. So I would imagine informal jackets, dresses, skirts and shoes ended up in Dundee or Glasgow or similar. However, I suppose there was nothing to stop a farmer mucking out their pigs in a wool twinset of hers, though!

I know it’s not royal but David Beckham suit when he got his knighthood was beautifully made. Victoria did a lovely job.

When I saw the suit thought Armani straightaway. VB team did a brilliant job.

State banquet in Spain last night but I really don't like Letizia's ensemble and the wavy hair doesn't look right. Stupendous tiara but she's almost overwhelmed by it.

I don't really like Leti's hair like that, it doesn't suit her. The dress is overwhelming.

Not keen on Mary’s burgundy outfit but the white lace skirt and top is beautiful.

The tiara is set too far back on Leti’s head, and has she had extensions? Her hair isn’t that long.

I actually really like the ‘painted picture’ skirt with the burgundy silk blouse. I shouldn’t but I do. And the white lace is lovely. In fact I like all Mary’s clothes in that link above. Even the denim shirt 😂

letizia’s blue dress reminds me of a 1980s bridesmaid dress for some reason. I’m not keen. Lovely tiara, but as knickerlessparsons says above it’s too far back on her head. I like her wavy hair. Maybe not with this dress or tiara, but I like the waves

Agree with @Chesticles . I remember back in the early 80s when painted skirts were first a thing. I like this one.

Leti is overwhelmed by this outfit - the dress, the tiara (yes too far back), the necklace. A rare fail.

I like all of Mary's looks on her Egyptian trip, the blouse and skirt are lovely, as is the lace Zimmerman two piece.

I think it's just a bit overwhelming, although she's worn some stunning evening dresses in the past, this one just isn't the right fit or colour..
I think Max looks great in that colour and her hair looks good like that.

Max and Mary look fab…I love a painted skirt!

It’s an improvement on Edward’s iteration, as it does at least seem to fit well. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that it’s double breasted, or that it’s a very lairy blue that’s making me go 🤔though

It's a bit "hello sailor" isn't it? All that's missing is a captain's hat.

Mmm. Yes, I'm not sure about the choice of blue. Or the short length.
