Morning!
A new thread. Autumn beckons, lets hope we get some interesting looks to discuss!

Excellent 👌 - I hope you waved! The outfit is very Anne. Sensible brown tweed suit. The boots look like they may be interesting, though.

I feel shallow now commenting on her clothes being crumpled. She is doing sterling stuff.

No, really, don't, this thread is dedicated to fashion and appearances so it is not inappropriate, your opinions are perfectly valid. And she was crumpled. Also not a great attempt at a French tuck. But I love her anyway.

In which case I'll say that I don't think any of Sophie's outfits were a patch on those of the notable women she was meeting. Glorious African prints. I was particularly admiring the DRC Premier's coords until I noticed the asymetrical lapel in a clashing colour - to my eyes it looks as if someone in the workroom has sewn it onto the wrong outfit!

Can't think of the last time I saw a European leader wearing business attire with an equivalently elaborate, colourful print. The Princess of Wales would look amazing in a suit in an all-over, stylised botanical print that was beautiful rather than zany, if her new stylist could persuade her into but I can't see it happening. Beatrice might be up for it, but I don't think we see her in suits very often.

ExcellentDesigns · 06/10/2025 20:49

I hadn’t seen some of the ones of her meeting the women leaders, only the ones in The TImes where she was with the medical personnel and patients families. Having now clicked through I see what you mean @Cassiope .

RockaLock · 06/10/2025 21:17

Here’s Queen Jetsun looking as beautiful as ever, in a glorious outfit. Bhutan has such lovely traditional clothes.

Jetsun is beautiful. The traditional clothes are so elegant - that's obviously silk.
Where's Elvis?

OP posts:
RockaLock · 06/10/2025 21:26

Elvis has left the building…

I am always pleasantly surprised at just how many solo engagements Jetsun seems to do without the King - I always assumed that Bhutan was quite “traditional” (ie women not allowed to do much) so it’s nice to see that maybe I was wrong about that (with apologies to Bhutan).

Eaumyword · 06/10/2025 21:58

Anne looks neat as ever and so trim! Wondering if her boots are Fairfax and Favor or maybe Dubarry? They look comfy!
Jetsun is stunning, her hair and makeup is lovely and her outfits are gorgeous colours.

SqueakyDinosaur · 06/10/2025 23:42

I'm not sure that Fairfax & Favour were in business in 1970, which is almost certainly when Anne's boots were made....

Choux · 07/10/2025 07:43

Anne’s boots are House of Bruar. They still sell the same / similar although she has worn hers several times before most notably at Easter in Windsor a couple of years ago. They have long tassels which she may have tucked inside her boots yesterday but she let them fly at Easter.

Rich suede brings a beautiful shine to this classic suede riding boot, topped with a decorative tassel. Buy online at The House of Bruar.

House of Bruar! One of our favourites!

OP posts:
RockaLock · 07/10/2025 08:18

I randomly had a House of Bruar catalogue arrive in the post the other day, and actually found myself thinking “oh, that’s a nice coat” Blush

I don’t think I am quite county enough for it really, though!

Maireas · 07/10/2025 08:21

Give it time, @RockaLock , give it time...

Well done to Sophie and the work she is highlighting 👏🏻💐
Heartbreaking though to read about 🥲

Cassiope · 07/10/2025 08:36

I'm eyeing up some woollen jumpers (my winter dressing is 95% about warmth). If they offered a wider range of tartans I would eventually succumb...

I think the bag might be the same too. It looks nice and soft and squishy. Anne has a large collection of skirt suits and I appreciate the subtle variations in jacket style. Glad she swerved any temptation to choose a not-quite-matching scarf and went for bright red. Zips on the medial side of boots for me though.

bluegreygreen · 07/10/2025 10:02

I'm not nearly county enough for House of Bruar but it makes a good stopping point on our way to Inverness to see family, and I do have a couple of good cashmere tops from there.

Chesticles · 07/10/2025 10:41

Along with attending the Luxembourg abdication/accession, Max has had a busy week out and about. She isn't afraid to try different outfits! No flowery dresses or coloured trouser suits for her!

Quite a mixed bag! Great picture of Max and Wax in the cockpit. 😁 I think the cream suit is the best look.

OP posts:
bluegreygreen · 07/10/2025 10:54

The cream suit is great - not loving the hat with the dark blue outfit

Sadly-I am very much county enough for Bruar. I am a walking parody….

eggandonion · 07/10/2025 12:25

I have no reason to be in Scotland...but a House of Bruar stop off sounds good. I assume they have a lovely cafe and nice toilets.

smilesy · 07/10/2025 12:48

I like the pink trousers that Max is wearing and am rather taken with the cute pink handbag. A nice shade of rose rather than Barbie pink

Yes they do. Although quite busy. Plus you can do a quick hike up to the Falls of Bruar behind the centre if you want to stretch your legs a bit more. My Scottish MIL tells me that the Falls of Bruar are vaguely famous for being in a poem.

Tablefor4 · 07/10/2025 12:59

@Chesticles Love the pictures! The one in the cockpit is hilarious! Favourite outfit is the cream one - with block heels, I see. Not the usual stilettos.
