Wedding guest shoes that's not heels or open toes?

Pinklittlebaby · 16/08/2025 10:41

Would a shoe like this be good for a wedding guest? Will be wearing likely a formal casual dress, likely long.

I don't like heels or open toe shoes or sandals.

These gold ones are probably the best at bridging the wedding appropriate vs comfortable gap.
They aren’t for everyone but I think they’d work with pretty much any dress.
I like the green dress in the AI picture above

edited to say sorry I meant to quote the hotter sandals

Pinklittlebaby · 18/08/2025 17:59

I am drawn to these shoes a lot. I am somewhat traditional with shoes too. I also found this on another site in gold. I found this in a ballerina style in pink that I like too.

Would any of this be suitable?

I will likely have a pink dress.

I typed my details into AI and this is what it gave me although, I don't think I am this big and wide.

The shoes clash with the hair and dress. Too many different colours. X

What shoes?

The ones that were in that Ai picture they were almost maroon, didn’t match with the purple hair and the navy. Will you be wearing accessories? Bag, jewellery etc? If you are going for gold or silver could you get a shoe colour that matched? Then have a navy or green or whatever colour you pick dress. Something that makes things easier for me and more likely to get more wear out the shoes.

I agree with the other posters who think that the shoes you've suggested aren't really suitable for a wedding and that you should be looking for metallic shoes. The dresses you've posted (the dark green one in your first post was the nicest & great for an Autumn wedding) seem to have 1950's vibe & I don't think heavy brogues or loafers would go with that style. Could you wear a low heel? Paradox London have some metallic wide fit shoes with low heels. And even one that's a navy shimmer.

The dresses you’ve shortlisted are beautiful! The shoes are too dark, plain and not suited to the dresses at all! Looks like you need comfort but you don’t have to compromise on style to get that!

Op, with respect, are you an old lady? The shoes you are sharing are what my 80 year gran and her friends would wear. Your age will likely influence what people suggest

Pinklittlebaby · 18/08/2025 22:09

Oh my goodness, thank you so much. You just found me a shoe that looks comfortable and something I can wear and something suitable.

Thank you so much.

We have a winning shoe here musnet.

I will go for the nude or silver.

Thank you so much.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am half the age of your 80 year old gran plus a few more other years.

I like comfort.

I hate heels. I can't walk in them. So I am limited. I am limited again to closed toe shoes due to ingrown toenails. I don't like shoes with no support. I need to have some support.

The silver version of this would be really nice with most of those dresses you shared and look lovely for a wedding!

That's what I bought - the silver ones. The silver would go with green, blue, pink. Yet to decide on a dress.

Sorry to hijack your thread OP but thank you @PenguinLove1 for sharing details of the FitFlop Mary Jane’s. I’ve been really struggling to find a pretty flat shoe. My old trusted ballerina flats are no good now as I have an Achilles problem and need more support but these look like they will be perfect!

Chewbecca · 19/08/2025 09:09

Great choice OP, hope they fit well. My fifflop boots are really comfy.

I’ve just bought some dance wear jazz shoes from Freed for a wedding later this month. They are soft, flat, comfortable and elegant.

Nice choice! Comfy and elegant is perfect for a wedding.

Winglessvulture · 18/09/2025 11:23

I think it totally depends on what outfit you are wearing, and also when the wedding is. I think these would be great with the right outfit for an autumn/winter wedding, but would probably be too heavy looking for spring/summer.

Yeah, that style looks perfect! Closed-toe flats or low loafers can be super comfy and still classy for a long dress.
