Blue Wedding Guest Dress

I've been asked to wear blue at my friend's wedding and really struggling to find a nice occasion dress!

I am short, slim and woud prefer not bodycon if possible.

Has anyone seen anything really special?

Budget? Does it have to be solid blue or are patterns/other colours ok? Any particular style you want? What is 'really special'? You could always hire something which is more likely to be unique/different.

What’s the wedding context? Scottish castle / High Church and luxury hotel / woodland revelry / pub lunch?

I have the monsoon dress in a different pattern, it wears really well and looks amazing but is longer than I thought, model online must have been tall!

I'm 5'2" and size 6-8 with a tummy and boobs. Slim legs. I'm older but like to dress young! it's a smart hotel wedding and not too formal or traditional.

This is beautiful and looks like it could be taken up if necessary (I'm a short-arse so always conscious of length!)

I wonder whether the perfect dress for you, OP, will be just above the knee length.

Am suggesting that as it seems to be a good length for petites, who can feel swamped by the lengths of fabric in midis and maxis.

Much more modern and in line with what people are actually wearing at weddings these days, and lot of the 'formal' brands are stuck firmly in the early 2000s with very modest coverage and big floral prints.

Forgot to add! Forever New have a petite dress called the Marli Petite Corset maxi dress which would look stunning if thats your kind of blue.

No, any blue is fine, it's mainly for the closest family and friends I think. I fancy a mid blue, not too pale not too dark.

Yeah it can be a thing. It’s been doing rounds on social media about maybe getting your best pal or your mum to wear (and be your) something blue
