Mascara - the eternal hunt for a good one...

I never seem to be able to find the perfect mascara.

Recent attempts have been the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk one which goes on beautifully - better than any others I've tried - but am so disappointed that it ends up sitting under my eyes accentuating my wrinkles/under eye bags within an hour of putting it on.

Have also used the Estee Lauder Double Wear one which is the opposite - it's such a pain to try to put it on without it going all clumpy but once it's one it does stay put.

Any suggestions for any others to try?

Lancôme hypnose. I wouldn’t waste my money experimenting with anything else not even Lancôme products (I found their doll eyes mascara awful).

What @Ladybyrd said. Don’t bother going with anything else. (I have and have spent £££££‘s over the years, nothing comes close.)

I really like Clinique Lash Power.

It doesn’t clump and it stays on all day, any other brand that I’ve tried has slipped off my lashes within a couple of hours, and it easily washes off at night.
A big plus for me with this too is that as well as the usual Black it also comes in a Dark Chocolate shade which suits me better.

I agree with Lancôme being the best. I’ve tried other brands including Charlotte Tilbury (hated it). Also tried Hourglass, Rare Beauty, Laura Mercier, Ilia Beauty (quite good), Nars Climax (very good) but the best is Lancôme Hypnose!

Elf tubing mascara. It’s brilliant. It does not budge all day

After years of panda eyes and mascaras not doing much for my short stubby lashes I've discovered Tarte tubing mascaras which don't budge and actually make me look like I have lashes - not amazingly beautiful long ones but at least you can tell they are there now!

I buy the minis/travel size as I find the size easier to use and I don't waste product by them expiring half used.

Iconic London……..absolutely beautiful. Best one I’ve found and my God I’ve tried a few to find my perfect mascara. I used to use Lancôme intencils but they stopped making it years ago.

Lots of the mascaras suggested are made by companies owned by Nestle. So not suitable if you boycott them.

I love the MCo Lash Xtend tubing mascara. So much so I import 12 at a time whenever they have a sale on.

Lancôme Hypnose is the one. The original. Nothing else to say!

Lancome or Estee. Presently using a Clinique one which was part of a free gift and it's just as good.

Which ones ?

I'm looking for a cheap one that's suitable for sensitive eyes for everyday wear.
Any suggestions - no premium ones costing £££s.

mascara is really good. It thickens, separates and appears to lengthen lashes.
it’s not clumpy, it’s stays where you put it and the waterproof one is bomb proof. It lasted a full shower after a swim

The Rumi one is my current favourite.

Avon Legendary Lengths is decent. Cheap and cheerful! Washes off easily and seems to lengthen my lashes. I use brown black.

My criteria is how it goes on, it has to be non-irritating to my eyes, the wand has to be right, no clumps or smudges and it has to wash off easily.

Buy Maybelline Sky High from Savers, it’s about £8 instead of £12.

I like using the L’Oréal Panorama mascara. I prefer the spiky brushes though for separation.

This is cheap as chips and stays all day.

I prefer supporting companies that don’t poison babies in the pursuit of profit.

I’ve used Benefit They’re Real! for years - I curl my stubby, fine lashes and apply and they look all right. I’m also a contact lens wearer with sensitive eyes if that’s of relevance to you OP.

Aldi Lacura , I've ditched Lancome Hypnose in favour and bought 5 for the price of one Lancome.

Expensive but Chantecaille is the best I’ve ever used.
