@kerstina I find it pills very easily too. It's not a cream that works well with other products under or over it for me. I find Elemis Marine Cream to be a bit similar. I think it's because it has Dimethicone quite high in the ingredients list which gives it that very supple, glowy texture.

I really like the cream but I'm finding hard to finish off the jar for that reason. I've been able to minimise the pilling effect by only using a very thin layer and/or using it on low maintenance days where I literally just cleanse and moisturise. This doesn't happen often though.

I've been interested in trying the new lighter moisture milk they brought out to see if that was a bit better but I'm wary of it being similar. It's a shame because as a standalone cream it's lovely but I probably won't buy again.

I’ve been really trying to maintain my positive use-it-up stance on this infernal Supergoop Glow Screen, but it’s hard. I just hate it so much. But I also hate waste!

Dammit!

kerstina · 06/07/2025 11:45

Thanks Ovahere ,glad it’s not just my skin! I find Elemis ok and I put Charlotte tilbury magic water crème on this morning and that’s nice and dewy for a bit. I guess that’s the beauty of all these boxes though finding out what works for us.

OvaHere · 06/07/2025 11:48

@kerstina on the upside the 10ml jars that are regularly in edits/gwps sell very well on Vinted. I find if you list them for £10 they get snapped up.

I hate wasting stuff too but there's the odd thing you just have to call it quits on. I've thrown two partially used Ultra Violette sunscreens because after a few uses they started causing eye irritation.

I won't throw stuff out just because I'm bored of it or found something better but if I genuinely can't get on with a product I think it's fine to just cut your losses.

I tend to mis-use things rather than chuck them. So face creams/serums get used as body moisturiser or even body wash sometimes. Similarly, cleansers become body wash if I want them gone. Make up is less versatile (any ideas?) but my daughter has reused some in her art work 😂.

Arrearing50 · 06/07/2025 12:32

If you know any one in the 10-16 age bracket, any sparkly make up or lip gloss usually easy to pass on!

Doubleraspberry · 06/07/2025 13:02

I have in-house make up receivers.

paristotokyo · 06/07/2025 13:08

@kerstinaooh I’ve been waiting to try this and it’s not cheap so I’m glad I’ve seen this. Can you use it as a body moisturiser instead of chucking it?

Thanks @OvaHere I needed that validation! I think I’m going to call it quits. I’ve really tried but it’s making me want to avoid SPF which is a bad thing. The other shiny one I have will be repurposed for body.

I have Altruist face fluid to try. Fingers crossed that’s not shiny too!!

BakeOffRewatch · 06/07/2025 13:19

@TragicMuse i have the same feelings about SPF! I use the SUQQU SPF30 primer and SPF50 lotion, neither sting my eyes. I bought the M&S beauty kit as it had the REN sunscreen in and I need to restock but it’s awful! So I’m putting off using it, but not buying the pricey SUQQU because I have a sunscreen on the go … the La Roche Posay SPF invisible fluid for kids is really good too. I’ve been using my kids one.

MrsBnow12 · 06/07/2025 13:29

I ended up chucking a UV Preen Screen spray on holiday as it used to clog up and was a right pain to use, has put me off the brand and will stick to my Thank You Farmer SPF instead.
I use the Tatcha Dewy Cream as my night cream.

The Thank You Farmer is a lot cheaper than SUQQU - I’ll try that next! Thank you.

They do scented and unscented versions. The scent on the scented one is quite strong so if you haven't tried it before maybe it's worth considering getting the unscented one.

Boots have started stocking the Fwee pudding pots.
https://www.boots.com/fwee-lipandcheek-blurry-pudding-pot-10365332

I've got a couple of these and really like them. I tend to use them on the lips for a subtle matte look or as a base under gloss. The shade My is a lovely neutral colour. They can double up on cheeks too.

Only caveat is that you can pick them up for about half the price on K beauty sites especially during sales or with coupons.

Snap, but sometimes I have to hide things due to an in house make up borrower/thief!

Just reviving the Hourglass chat from a few pages ago. There's a bit more info now on the shades.
https://beauty-detective.com/hourglass-ambient-lighting-edit-collection-2025/

Charlotte Holdcroft has also done a video talking about new shades and repeats

A 4th Swan palette has been leaked also which may be the darkest tone of them all but there seems a bit of uncertainty about that one being part of the holiday collection.

I think the Fox palette is the most interesting of all of them and appears to have the most new shades. That Amethyst blush looks lovely.

Realistically only the Deer or Horse palette would work with my skin tone overall. I've done a bit of a stocktake and I own two of the shades from the Deer and one shade from the Horse.

My sensible head says I don't need one but as an overall curation both Deer and Horse are better suited palettes to me than the Dragon one I bought last year due to the cooler/neutral tones. If I do buy one it's possible I'll all but stop using the Dragon one which is a bit of a shame because it's lovely, just quite warm leaning so doesn't totally hit the mark shade wise.

The RRP will probably be around £95 so that's a factor too. Luckily I probably have a couple of months to change my mind a zillion times before they release.
