To me it's too white, the dots aren't colourful enough to distract from the main colour

OurManyEnds · 16/05/2025 12:23

If it wasn’t long maybe, but long and mostly white…I don’t think I would.

RoseAndGeranium · 16/05/2025 12:28

I think the whole thing about not wearing white to a wedding is weird. I wouldn’t have cared, so long as whoever it was didn’t show up in an actual wedding dress. That doesn’t look like a wedding dress to me, but perhaps it depends what the bride’s wearing.if she’s going full meringue I really don’t see this being an issue. Also what you wear with it matters. Pink shoes and pink hat would colour up the outfit effectively but if you went with white shoes and a floral crown you might raise eyebrows.

Spicysuz · 16/05/2025 12:32

Ohhh what a beautiful dress. My rule of thumb is that if I’m thinking ‘is this too white’ it probably is. Arguably you could always justify that it’s not white due to the pattern, but I’m not sure I could be bothered with feeling self conscious on the day and dodging people’s judging eyes!

SunshineAndFizz · 16/05/2025 12:36

Nah

Megifer · 16/05/2025 12:38

It's fine

Twoshoesnewshoes · 16/05/2025 12:39

It’s very lovely but agree it’s too white.

NeedForSpeed · 16/05/2025 12:39

I wouldn't. You'll look really inappropriate in any photos if you're pictured with the bride. It'll flash your dress up as white and sparkly. I would not want to look at those photos and wish I hadn't worn that dress!

It's available in other colours, pick something else.

IsItBeesThoughLooshkin · 16/05/2025 12:40

It’s extremely low cut.

Ohdearwhatnow4 · 16/05/2025 12:40

Fine with bright/coloured accessories

Ellejay67 · 16/05/2025 12:40

Too revealing and I'm sure you could find better and less white

AdaColeman · 16/05/2025 12:41

I think it would be fine if you wore bright colourful or metallic accessories with it. It's a very pretty frock!

sesquipedalian · 16/05/2025 12:42

Too white, I’m afraid - but it’s a lovely dress!

OP posts:
Verite1 · 16/05/2025 12:44

Hmmm I normally say these are fine, but I do think it’s a bit white. How about the green ombré - that’s much more striking anyway!

Megifer · 16/05/2025 12:48

I love NFD for being able to change how they are worn normally but that seam does make it look obvious it's back to front.

Agree with poster above the green is gorgeous, I prefer that to the white one. Pale pink one lovely too

CigarettesAndLoveBites · 16/05/2025 12:49

I prefer the green or pink tbh.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 16/05/2025 12:53

The only place I'd wear that dress is on the beach as a cover up, far too casual for a wedding IMO

Absolutely this! I had never ever heard that you shouldn’t wear white to a wedding until I heard it on MN!
I wore a white top with a white skirt to my SIL’s (2nd) wedding but had pink shoes and accessories. I had no idea people who were there would judge me! For what it’s worth SIL wore a dress with an ivory skirt and lilac top. I didn’t look anything close to resembling a bride! 😆
The dress is lovely @Knakeredd

cramptramp · 16/05/2025 13:00

Too white. Lovely dress though.

Atarin · 16/05/2025 13:02

The green one looks so much nicer and more striking. The cream looks more of a beach dress.

As for people saying you’ll look back at the photos and regret it, I don’t even look at my own wedding photos let alone someone else’s!!!

3pointmountain · 16/05/2025 13:08

No, I don't think so. The style combined with the colour makes it the kind of thing I might wear to my own wedding, if I were ever to do that again.

SnemonyLicket · 16/05/2025 13:24

I personally think it’s fine, and if a guest had turned up wearing that at my wedding I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. However, it depends on the bride I guess. Do you know her well enough to ask if it’s ok?

Gettingbysomehow · 16/05/2025 13:33

The main rule of etiquette at weddings is don't take attention away from the bride.
This dress screams look at me. It's very low cut, full length and cream. It's a big no in my book. It's the brides day not yours.

Blueeeee · 16/05/2025 13:39

Too white and too much cleavage
