I think the colour is fine, for what it's worth. I was not at all bothered about what people wore to my wedding. I think my line may be the guests wearing a wedding dress 🤣

FutureMandosWife · 16/05/2025 20:45

Fine for a wedding guest, I can't understand the no hint of white for a wedding. I didn't care as long as my guests were there.

gotmyknickersinatwist · 16/05/2025 21:03

The pink is really lovely with the V at the back

Mrsgreen100 · 16/05/2025 21:12

Nope ,to white

Absolutely this! I had never ever heard that you shouldn’t wear white to a wedding until I heard it on MN!
I wore a white top with a white skirt to my SIL’s (2nd) wedding but had pink shoes and accessories. I had no idea people who were there would judge me! For what it’s worth SIL wore a dress with an ivory skirt and lilac top. I didn’t look anything close to resembling a bride! 😆
The dress is lovely @Knakeredd

No white dress as a wedding guest, it is a mn quirk.Get people v aerated. There are rules and all that.Apparently
I have a long ivory slip dress that I’ve worn to a few weddings. No one has said anything.

ArcticTvrn · 16/05/2025 23:21

Oh for goodness' sake. Why should OP cover up? Have people forgotten during the pandemic that occasion wear is different from workwear?

A long strapless dress or with cleavage is fine for a formal occasion. Kneelength or similar for cocktails.

Boring necklines that strangle you if you move are for never.

Wear what you'll feel beautiful in, OP, and I'm so glad you aren't dressing like a besmocked escapee from a Victorian institution.

ClearHoldBuild · 16/05/2025 23:22

It’s lovely, ask the bride.

WhiteRosesAndCandles · 16/05/2025 23:39

Nope.

Sgreenpy · 17/05/2025 00:20

I think it's fine for a wedding guest. Love it worn with the high neck/low back way.

NorthXNorthWest · 17/05/2025 00:25

It's not the colour. The material is almost transparent - great for the beach with a bikini but would scream attention seeker, at a wedding.

bridgetreilly · 17/05/2025 03:12

Depends how bridezilla she is. I think it’s perfectly fine, but some people would get crazy about how it might look in the photo.

ZepherinDrouhin · 17/05/2025 04:45

Choose a different colour as the coloured dots won't be visible on the photos so it'll look completely white.

Also, wear a slip or underskirt underneath so your underwear isn't visible through thr sheer fabric.

spoonbillstretford · 17/05/2025 05:23

Clearly it's not a wedding dress so there is no problem wearing it to wedding, other than in Mumsnetland.

I think you'd need to be as slender as the model to carry it off though, it's extremely low cut and could look inappropriate.

foreverblowingbubbless · 17/05/2025 05:47

It looks a bit beachy to me plus the front is far too low.

WhyDoIKeepMakingMyLifeHarder · 17/05/2025 06:41

Are you a size 6? Because 8/10/12 are sold out and I don't think the style would suit a bigger size . ( I'm bigger than a 12, and the style would not be flattering)

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 17/05/2025 07:02

It’s gorgeous but as it’s full length there’s a LOT of white there…I’d be tempted to go for another colour - the pink/red is rather fabulous?

JingsMahBucket · 17/05/2025 07:27

For the money, that dress looks really cheaply made, thin transparent fabric, and it’s polyester. I wouldn’t spend £149 on it and that’s before the question of it being too bridal. It’s just not good quality in the first place.

Me neither! I wore a cream dress, black accessories, to a wedding years ago. It was short, nothing like a wedding dress. I've been to many weddings where friends & family have worn cream or predominantly white outfits. Never gave it a thought. None of them looked remotely like the bride!

heidyho · 17/05/2025 07:50

I don't think it's too white, it's full of other colours. And don't mind the 'too low cut' comments- prudes!! Go for it. I must say I love the pink Boho coloured one 🥰

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 17/05/2025 08:02

DollyPinkDaydream · 16/05/2025 20:42

Indeed…I tried on the pink one and fell in love with the material, but it’s very thin and the finish is shocking. Plus if you turn it back to front - which you pretty much have to do as the hook and eye does next to nothing, the shaping goes a bit weird and it looked obvious to me it had been reversed. @Knakeredd have you tried it on? I think there are nicer looking wedding guest outfits out there for the money…

Interesting - the look and feel of the website is not great to me. For similar prices and a wide range of styles I'd look at somewhere like Monsoon, Karen Millen and there are bound to be others with styles that appeal to you, but better quality.

BorderTerrierTimesThree · 17/05/2025 08:05

It’s a beautiful dress, but I would worry it might look quite see through in photos.
personally if I had the figure for it I would wear the pink/gold version (the first colour option) with the low cut at the back, it reminds me of the Jenny Packham designs.

RampantIvy · 17/05/2025 08:12

IsItBeesThoughLooshkin · 16/05/2025 12:40

It’s extremely low cut.

Yes, I was thinking that.

That’s unusual, I’ve never seen or even heard of my one wearing white to a wedding, it’s a big no-no and always has been in my circles.

minnienono · 17/05/2025 08:20

Can’t see the issue myself, it’s definitely not a wedding dress

Middlechild3 · 17/05/2025 08:22

No it's very like some of the wedding dresses for sale in Monsoon
