Wide leather sandals, leather inner, walkable but stylish

Does anyone have any tips for nice sandals with an adjustable front, or come in wide fittings?
There used to be a few just bearable Hotter styles but they’re so frumpy now and also, the inner is “textile” - changed a few years ago - it’s a beige fabric that looks like nubuck in photos but it’s cheap material over plastic that wears poorly.
Clarks I like but I can’t find anything nice right now in a wide fitting or adjustable.
i want an alright looking sandal, maybe with a bit of a wedge, that I can wear on a city break without sore feet but feeling a bit more elegant than I do in my tevas.

thanks in advance

Gabor come up wide and have a wide fit option too. The Oporto sandal is lovely although only adjustable at the ankle end.
The slim leather Teva option is nice this year, although not a leather inner.
Have FitFlop got anything?

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think?

Both styles have Velcro straps and are my summer go-tos. Not the most stylish but way way better than most. Lots of colours/nubuck/leather too.

It’s the holy grail OP

I’ve found DM sandals very comfy the last couple of summers. They are big and clumpy though (especially if you combine wide feet with being size 9 😞) so may not be the look you are after

I’m considering these for this summer: https://www.drmartens.com/uk/en_gb/gryphon-tumbled-nubuck-sandals-desert-brown/p/40625200

How about FitFlops?

These have a leather footbed.

If you’ve never worn FitFlops before, I can assure you that they are incredibly comfortable, and really good for walking in. (Apart from the ones with thongs, which really hurt my toes!)

The Clark’s Alda Strap is very comfy, and comes in wide fitting. I just wish I’d got it in tan last year, unfortunately it’s only in black or white now.

I have these and can confirm they're wonderful (and I have bunions so wide fit is a must for me)

Not leather but I was looking for a nice pair of walking sandals as off to Italy at the end of May and want something I can wear walking around cities but also can walk on rocky beaches. My Aunt got a pair of these in blue and I tried them on and they are super comfy. She has ordered me them in black.

Gabor is definitely my go to for this, have these in white, the lining but not footbed is leather, still looking good after two years.

MMAMPWGHAP · 07/05/2025 09:31

Like you I would have previously searched for those. But I’ve been buying Saltwater with the adjustable front for 10 years. The footbed is not leather but I don’t notice when wearing them and it doesn’t get smelly and is easy to keep clean.
I say 10 years but in that time I’ve had 3 pairs. One I’ve relegated to gardening. One with the thin sole and one with the thicker sole are still in use. Thin sole take up a little less room in a bag when packing.
I wear them all summer.

I’ve just bought these. They are beautiful and very comfy with a wide toe box. they are pricey but classic so I can justify the price as I’ll wear the loads and over multiple summers
