Do you have a signature scent?

I know some people don’t agree with a signature scent as it keeps you loyal to one brand but I love the idea of having one that everyone associates with me. My favourite is Another 13 by Le Labo. I find that it suits every occasion & every season & would love this to be my signature scent but it’s so expensive I can’t justify wearing it all of the time. So I just keep buying cheaper ones that are similar but just don’t hit the spot. Now I have way too many that I don’t love but feel like I have to wear to get rid of them & have my beloved Another 13 in a dark drawer for a “special occasion”..

So has anyone else found their scent & if so what is it?

No.... - I have come to the sad conclusion I'm not a scent person.
My favourite scent is Nuxe but it has to be on someone else not on me.
I have tried Floral Street, Eden, Liz Earle , Penhaligon but it gets ££ to try them and be disappointed .
I'm not even sure what I'd go for ....

My current favourite showed products are Rituals Sakura and they have an EDT that I might try
Or Molton Brown Orange and Bergamot but the matching fragrance was nasty !

SoScarletItWas · 18/04/2025 15:25

I did and they they first reformulated it (and it was nasty) and then discontinued it altogether. Still mad about it. Armani Mania early 2000s original version, shame on you!

And no, the dupes that pretend to have resurrected it tell lies. Nothing like it.

Cheap & cheerful but since I've been around 20, I've worn Noä by Cacharel. Stints with other scents but this has been a faithful for almost 25 years. I'd be lost if it was discontinued.

RabbitsRock · 18/04/2025 15:32

It was Obsession by Calvin Klein but now I wear Roberto Cavelli. Also love Coco Chanel, Sun by Jill Sander & Rive Gauche by YSL.

FearistheMindKillerr · 18/04/2025 15:43

What I find similar to Amother 13 (which is lovely but not worth the £££) is D&G Light Blue and Penhaligon’s Quercus. Could try mixing them.

Aligirlbear · 18/04/2025 15:44

Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin. Worn it since it was first brought out and no other perfume for years. I’ve got more adventurous in the last 5 or so years and do occasionally wear other Jo Malone scents but my fall back is always Lime Basil and Mandarin

uncomfortablydumb60 · 18/04/2025 15:51

yes, an old one and a new which smell very similar
CKIN2U which is my smell according to my DS’s when they were young
YSL Libre which is a “ grown up” version which i wear every day. Light but lasting, citrussy but also has depth.

RaraRachael · 18/04/2025 16:03

Nothing ever lasts on me. I've got a couple of Jo Malones that smell nice when I put them on but 20 minutes later there's no trace of it.
Nobody has ever commented on a perfume I've worn so I may as well spend my money on something else.

Cantonet · 18/04/2025 16:08

Yes, I do.
In spring/summer it's Chanel Cristalle edp or Fleur Du Matin by Miller Harris ( sadly discontinued).
In winter it's Clinique Wrappings ( also discontinued).
So I will have to find a new winter scent. It will probably come from Perfumer H - Lyn Harris.

Hotafternoon · 18/04/2025 16:11

Chanel No. 19 but today I got a Penhaligon sample set that I've started with the first of 10 to try out so I may have to change that at some point if I find something new I want to wear all the time.

GroovyChick87 · 18/04/2025 16:27

I've got loads of fragrances, both expensive and cheap dupes. I'd get bored wearing the same one every day.

I've been wearing Anaïs Anaïs since the mid 90s! I try other things but always come back to it. Weirdly it smells too sweet on other people, my skin seems to make it "deeper" if that's possible.

PooksBear · 18/04/2025 17:28

Chanel Exclusifs Sycomore

HundredMilesAnHour · 18/04/2025 17:28

I wear Silky Woods by Goldfield & Banks pretty much all the time. Occasionally I wear a different fragrance from the same range (such as Sunset Hour) but Silky Woods is my go-to. I tested it on my wrist in Sephora in Adelaide (Aus) and had to go back and buy it the next day as it smelled so good on me. I get lots of compliments. It brings back very happy holiday memories which always give me a mental boost.

Ooh I love Coco and Obsession so now will have try those others.

Bizarrely Elizabeth Arden Red Door. Bizarre because when I first smelt it I wasn't particularly taken with it. I certainly wouldn't have bought it out of choice. I got it because my sister got a bottle as a free gift and actively disliked it. Never having been someone to turn down a freebie and took it and started wearing it and it's the one perfume I always get complimented on and now I just feel like 'me' whne I wear it.
I've been wearing it now for nearly 40 years and can't see it changing unless they discontinue it! 🙀

Cantonet · 18/04/2025 17:41

I used to have about 70+ @GroovyChick87.
I've sold a lot of them and I'm down to @20.
I got bored of perfume as an obsession.
I don't wear my signature every day but they're my primary go to

Tiredandneedtogotobed · 18/04/2025 17:44

Jean Paul Gaultier. I only wear it when I go out rather than everyday but I’ve worn it for 30 years since I was 16!
I love it and I'm not into perfume enough to go looking for another….

ParsnipPuree · 18/04/2025 17:46

Luna by Penhaligon. Doesn’t stay on me though!

foxlover47 · 18/04/2025 17:54

Angel is mine , the original one

Crispynoodle · 18/04/2025 17:55

I revolve around Chanel no. 5, Shay and Blue Blood oranges and Molten Brown Dune Roses. I also have a light citrusy one from M&S no idea what it’s called!

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 18/04/2025 18:07

Flower by Kenzo.

nyancatdays · 18/04/2025 18:08

Prada Infusion d’Iris works really well on my skin. Previous to that I used to wear Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist which I used to get loads of compliments on, but it got discontinued 😢

The one thing with the Prada is that the price has absolutely rocketed in the last few years, from around £40-60 when I first started wearing it, to something like £140 now only a few years later! I was recently looking for another scent as I fancied a change, and I just could not believe how much the perfumes are now. Just how have they got away with well over normal levels of inflation?!?

Plus I can’t find any nice new perfume at the moment. All the scents are either sickly-sweet (and very strong), or they have a very harsh, synthetic cologne smell that gives me a terrible headache. I’m so nostalgic for the soft fresh ozonic fragrances and the soft light florals that were around when I was younger. Everything now is so brash, artificial and migraine-inducing — either it’s got buckets of synthetic musk or it smells like strong loo cleaner!

Beaverbridge · 18/04/2025 18:13

Clinique Aromatic Elixir, unpopular with some people but I love it. I also like Juliet has a gun Moscow Mule but go back to Aromatics!.

JadeSeahorse · 18/04/2025 18:17

Definitely yes!

Elizabeth Arden Blue grass.

Have worn it every day for over 50 years including my Wedding Day and the day my DD was born. ♥️
