Do you have a signature scent?

I know some people don’t agree with a signature scent as it keeps you loyal to one brand but I love the idea of having one that everyone associates with me. My favourite is Another 13 by Le Labo. I find that it suits every occasion & every season & would love this to be my signature scent but it’s so expensive I can’t justify wearing it all of the time. So I just keep buying cheaper ones that are similar but just don’t hit the spot. Now I have way too many that I don’t love but feel like I have to wear to get rid of them & have my beloved Another 13 in a dark drawer for a “special occasion”..

So has anyone else found their scent & if so what is it?

Anais Anais in my teens, Dune in my 20s, Boudoir until it was discontinued, then Decadence until that too was discontinued. My skin does awful things to perfume, so I’ve been searching for something I love do about five years.

White Musk, Body Shop. Worn it for years.
My Mum once went in and asked for “ White Muff” one Christmas perfectly innocently.
It’s years since she died but still makes me smile now that she did that!

I do! It’s Darling Nikki by Vilhelm Parfumerie. I got absolutely hooked on it from a Liberty beauty box. There’s no scent I’ve ever smelt that I’ve loved as much.

Chanel Allure - have worn it for about 30 years.

In summer I love Cristalle (tall bottle, silver lettering and black lid).

For a cheaper scent I also loved Paul Smith Rose. I wish that would come back.

Patchouli Paris by Guerlain is now my absolute forever signature scent. My mother always wore their Mitsouko so it seems fitting.

I got a small bottle of Vilhelm Peony Couture in one of the Liberty bags or boxes - spendy but I adore it and get so many compliments

I wear either Ritual’s Sakura or Philosophy Amazing Grace every day.
Also love Creed’s Spring Flower but it’s so expensive.

Chanel N5 or Miss Dior

Popwentmybrain · 08/12/2025 20:20

Coco mademoiselle - I love it. Have loads of body sprays that are nice but really struggle with any other perfume

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/12/2025 20:23

Mine was Champagne by YSL. They rebranded it as Yvresse, deleted it and then brought it back as a limited edition. I finally got a bottle and it doesn’t quite smell the same IMO

JulesJules · 08/12/2025 20:46

I also love Another 13. I've worn Mitsouko by Guerlain nearly all my adult life, before that it was Diorella.

Tom Ford Lost Cherry. So good

Try Vanille Tobacco too. Every bit as good

Cantonet · 08/12/2025 22:02

Yes, Cristalle EDP in summer & Clinique Wrappings in in a properly cold Winter. The in-between times I loved Lipstick Rose & La fille de Berlin.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 08/12/2025 22:04

No, I change every few months and sometimes go back to old ones. At the moment it's CK One as it's so light, fresh and nostalgic. And £28 for 200ml EDT 🙂

OneBadKitty · 08/12/2025 22:29

I used to buy a fragrance and wear it all the time as a signature. Then I got into perfume more and realised there are far too many beautiful fragrances out there to limit myself to just one. Now I have an ever revolving collection which I wear on rotation and always like to try something new when one runs out. I think I have about 20-25 bottles at the moment- I keep them in a box in the dark and some are 10 yers old and still good. This way I can choose a scent to suit my mood, the weather, the occasion etc. It means I don't get noseblind to them and don't get bored of them.

My current winter faves are Babycat by YSL, Oud Satin Mood by Francis Kurkdjian, Guidance by Amouage, Santal Noir by Dior and Jungle by kenzo

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 09/12/2025 08:29

@OneBadKitty I love Oud Satin Mood. Expensive though.

PeonyPatch · 09/12/2025 08:30

Coco Mademoiselle - Chanel.

Flozle · 09/12/2025 08:38

I did. I wore Boudoir for years until it was discontinued. Eventually found Decadence by Marc Jacob’s. Which was discontinued. I’m now searching for something that works with my weird skin chemistry that changes the most gorgeous scent to fly spray.

Chanel No. 19 but today I got a Penhaligon sample set that I've started with the first of 10 to try out so I may have to change that at some point if I find something new I want to wear all the time.

I love that Penhaligon sample set! It’s actually very good value for the ml when you compare how much their scents cost.

Definitely yes!

Elizabeth Arden Blue grass.

Have worn it every day for over 50 years including my Wedding Day and the day my DD was born. ♥️

My lovely auntie always wore Blue Grass so I bought a bottle in her memory and now I love it.

Rowena191 · 09/12/2025 09:15

For years I've worn and loved Chanel No 19 but now I don't think I love it as much any more and I'm considering a change. Does your skin or sense of smell change as you get older? I'm trying out new ones and so far I like Miss Dior and Daisy (despite the irritating advert).
