Do you have a signature scent?

I know some people don’t agree with a signature scent as it keeps you loyal to one brand but I love the idea of having one that everyone associates with me. My favourite is Another 13 by Le Labo. I find that it suits every occasion & every season & would love this to be my signature scent but it’s so expensive I can’t justify wearing it all of the time. So I just keep buying cheaper ones that are similar but just don’t hit the spot. Now I have way too many that I don’t love but feel like I have to wear to get rid of them & have my beloved Another 13 in a dark drawer for a “special occasion”..

So has anyone else found their scent & if so what is it?

My insolence by Guerlain, unfortunately discontinued now . But my second favourite and my now go to is Estee Lauder sensuous

SeaDragon17 · 18/04/2025 18:46

Mine is Terre d’Hermes. Yes, I know it’s supposed to be for men but I love it and wear it every day, and have done for about 10 years!

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 18/04/2025 18:50

Armarni She, have been wearing it since it first came out in 1998. I remember going to John Lewis in my lunch break and buying it, a male colleague bought the male version that same day.

Apparently it's 'me'. I have others but it's the one that I've stayed loyal to.

Oblomov25 · 18/04/2025 19:22

lancome la nuit tresor.

it clearly suits me because I've been stopped a number of times by people in shops complementing me. And all my work colleagues say I always smell lovely.

Catmads · 18/04/2025 19:24

Prada Lunar Rossa Carbon.
I got a free sample when it launched with perfume and makeup that I had ordered and I've never looked back.
I have had so many compliments on it which has never happened before!

Calypsocuckoo · 18/04/2025 19:32

I wear Chanel Allure and have done since it first came out about 30 years ago, my daughters love to wear a scarf I have worn as it will smell like me, and when they were little, if I went away they liked a little squirt if it on their teddies.
i also wear Jean Paul Gaultier which is my work day perfume, it’s a bit more affordable, I have worn that for many years as well. I do occasionally try something else but always go back to those and wear Allure every day I am not in work.

I’m with you on the Le Labo love, mine is Matcha 26. My DD says it smells like an upmarket hotel reception or spa which I think is a compliment.
I also have Penhaligons Juniper Sling which I discovered 5 years ago on a break in Bath. More of summer scent.
Last one is Vilhelm Moon Carnival came across it in a Liberty beauty box and was hooked.
All are £££ but that’s what I cycle through. It’s freeing having got rid of everything else and feeling guilty for not using.

I really like Ariana Grande Cloud 😳

Fakingitnotmakingit · 18/04/2025 19:48

Dune by Christian Dior. An ex-boyfriend bought me a bottle when working in Paris back in 1997 and I've worn it ever since.

Disappointed I can no longer get the body cream to go with it.

LieutenantJumboJr · 18/04/2025 20:09

Chanel No 5, Chloe Nomade and L’Occitane verbena

Ineffable23 · 18/04/2025 20:19

L'Occitane Neroli et Orchidée for me. I love really floral perfumes: I do have several but I keep coming back to that one.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 18/04/2025 20:20

Nina Ricci L'air du Temps.
I've tried others but always come back to it. It's been around since the late 1940s.

MrsLeonFarrell · 18/04/2025 20:23

Paloma Picasso, I don't wear it every day but as often as I can. I used to wear Sublime in the day time but can't get it easily.

The original Insolence one was the best, I missed that scent so much.

I’ve been searching for something I could fall in love with for about 10 years and recently found Gualtier, and I’m so happy with it. It’s long lasting and a very ‘make me feel happy’ scent.

I've got loads of fragrances, both expensive and cheap dupes. I'd get bored wearing the same one every day.

Me too … I have ones I go to more but I like to shake it up and try loads

MrsPositivity1 · 18/04/2025 21:45

Jo Malone earl grey & cucumber for everyday and Pear & freesia for special occasions

HappilySquare · 18/04/2025 21:56

Givenchy Organza for me. It's the only perfume I've worn for 20+ years. It's so perplexing that scents smell so different on different people. I'd love to wear something else just for a change! I always ask, if I smell a nice scent on someone, but when I try it it smells like cat's piss. I get lots of compliments on my Organza, but sadly I can't smell it myself anymore, unless I have a break from it for a while.

I used to wear Paloma Picasso, or Magic Noir years ago, but Organza seems to really suit me.

Abra1t · 18/04/2025 22:04

Diorella.

Like others, too, but my husband really loves this one on me.

Miss Dior Original version.
Cristalle.

80smonster · 18/04/2025 22:29

Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle.

fragrancefriend · 19/04/2025 19:03

Now I want to try all these ones I’ve never heard of. Off to Fragrantica now to check them out!

Allure for me too, worn for years. I do have others but this is my go to. It just feels like me and weirdly no one really compliments me on it but when I don’t wear it, my family ask why I am not wearing it! I am sure everything in my wardrobe must smell of it! Mind you a lovely friend said I always smell French and expensive! Whatever that means!!

DeciDela · 19/04/2025 19:16

Eau d’Issey. I’ve been wearing it since 1994.
Also wear CK One and lately some others but Eau d’Issey is my main scent

everywhichway · 19/04/2025 19:20

I recently discovered Penhaligon's Cairo. I think that'll be it for quite a while now.

freshpyjamas · 19/04/2025 21:49

Jo Malone mimosa and cardamom

Friolero · 19/04/2025 21:53

Mine is Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia.
