SOAP…..I miss the smell!!!

Morning
I’m desperate to find either a very moisturising soap smelling soap, or a shower cream that smells like sosp
propper 80s camay kind of smell my mum used too use
no floral or citrus or summer rain on a hot cat
just soap!
Even Dove no longer smells soapy
i miss the clean simple smell soap.
Any recommendations?

Have you tried baby soap? That smelt similar to me last time I had some. You could also try TK Maxx and go in and smell some as they always have a big selection.

I was about to say the same, the Boots own brand baby soap smells nice and “soapy”

Wrights traditional soap is lush. Smells of proper soap. It’s in the orange paper wrapper. My fav.

I like Dr. Bronner's pure castile soap. The unscented one. But I'm not sure that's the smell you're after...

Try supermarkets or pound shops. Pearl by Cussons in Tesco or own brand in Lidl, Waitrose etc. Boots used to. Look at the ingredients.

I just got 3 bars of this as a gift... it's amazing! I've put the 2 Im not using in the drawers in my bedroom and they smell heavenly when I open them.

Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap (bars). It smells beautifully clean and soapy and contains lanolin, which is moisturising and gentle on sensitive skin.

The scent of the lilac flower reminds me of a childhood soap. I think it was a pink one. I'd love to find that they still make that.

What was the green one? Shield?

The pound shop in my local high street sells it, and other proper soaps.
Got a Brut soap-on-a-rope the other day!

Have you tried all the different fragrances of Dove soap, or just the “standard” white one? To me they do smell very soapy, but there is a pink one in particular that smells like this IMO. Reminds me of my nan!
(On a side note: after years of itchy flaky dry skin, and issues with irritation - and trying a million different products to solve it - I’ve found that good old Dove soap is miraculous. My skin has never been so soft and non-itchy, and I feel so clean and fresh after using it. Total convert!)
