What trainers are we wearing?

I don't have enough shoes and need to invest in myself a bit more. For various reasons I've neglected myself, and my wardrobe, and had about 5 years olf 'making do'

I have
1 x Doc Marten shoes in cherry
1 x pair white casual trainers for summer
2 x sandals for summer
1 x walking books
some old pairs of high heels which never get worn.

and one pair of Hoka trainers which are filthy and do for dog walking, gym, general leaving the house.

so I need some trainers that stay nice and clean.
and some trainers I can use in the gym, and my current ones can stay for dog walking.

My friend has just bought some Gazelles but my husband wears those.

I have really bad feet/arches so can't cope with Converse anymore.

i never buy the latest style of trainers because I hate paying full price but I just got some denim blue adidas spezisles. Perfect with jeans. They have a bit of suede embellishment so I doubt they’ll last a year but they’re so comfy and cute!

I saved up and along with vouchers splashed out on a pair of golden goose. before was vejyas. have to say fallen in love with them and full proper leather. the fact they are a bit scuffed aswell means I have worn them more as not afraid ti get them dirty. got a pair there on a second hand page there after Xmas then. they are a black pair so have one white and one balck pair now. love them and they are completely waterproof too. got vouchers at Xmas and now saving fir a pair of hi tops. I wear them every week and mu job causal enough that can wear to work sometimes. I detest sketchers and never liked the look of new balance assics etc. but then that's not my style
edited just to add I have flat feet and gg have good arch support for me. I am not a sporty person but wear alot running around. even wear them travelling

Edited

I'm with you on these I have one pair that are 5 years old now and look exactly like they did 5 years ago, they are comfy and I love them with dresses and shirts in the summer.

You've removed me maybe I'll get another pair rather than buying multiple others

For me my other go tos are gola, converse and gazelles.

That meant to say reminded me!!

Adidas samba

AlertCat · 24/02/2025 08:07

Asking here because I don’t think it warrants a whole thread- but dd and I were in Schuh at the weekend and every single Adidas trainer said ‘Adidas’ along the three stripes instead of ‘Gazelle/Samba/Speziale’. Is this just a Schuh thing, does anyone know? We were properly confused!

tilligan · 24/02/2025 08:11

Hoff trainers every time! I have PF too, they are supportive and comfortable.

GreatGardenstuff · 24/02/2025 08:50

I’ve fully converted to fitflop f mode. So comfortable!

Comefromaway · 24/02/2025 09:58

New Balance, Asics or Nike for the gym.

I wanted a pair of Vejas as I really liked the look of them but the styles I liked didn't suit my feet so I got a lovely pair of white trainers from All Saints last year in the sale.

InAnyOtherLife · 24/02/2025 14:43

Kate Spade for gorgeous daywear trainers, Metcons for the gym - they have great support!

Definitelynotme2022 · 24/02/2025 15:38

If you want Converse style, but the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, then try the Chuck Taylor All Star Move Platforms. I'm prone to PF, and have flat feet that can be really painful if I'm walking a lot. But I've literally walked round London all weekend in these.

I love my new balance trainers. I did love Stan Smiths, and have a few different colours, but since buying a pair of NB, I've realised Stan smiths are too flat for me

PTSDBarbiegirl · 24/02/2025 15:46

Nike Air Max 1

IamFrancine · 24/02/2025 17:46

sl72s

Moonshine5 · 24/02/2025 17:53

Metcon 5 for weights at the gym
Steve madden for the wedge (not white)

Emmz1510 · 24/02/2025 17:56

I do like my trainers. I have two pairs of converse black and grey but they are good for nothing except looking cute and being reasonable comfortable as long as I’m not walking excessive distances. I agree they are hard on the arches. I also have a pair of asics- amazing for walking- and two pairs or Nike- dunks and air max. The air max are like clouds so also good for walking.

BridgetRandomfuck · 24/02/2025 18:01

I’ve got some Stan Smiths for my bog-standard white trainers, and some New Balance CT302 and Sandro flames for when I want something a bit fancier.

Mumofyellows · 24/02/2025 18:09

I have black Gazelles with white stripes, black and white vans, 3 pairs of NB 327s in different colours (I find them so comfy), and white leather puma's. Absolutely love trainers and I wear them to work some days as well as casual.
I currently would like some NB 530 and a pair of lighter colour Adidas Spezial.

offmynut · 24/02/2025 18:38

Op you have more shoes than me.
I have a pair of cheep white trainers £6 a pair of black trainer boots £9 and a pair of clogs £4 all from temu.
There just shoes im only going to walk in them.

Just bought these Campus today, I've got a few pairs of Gazelles in different colours but my favourite are some Spezials in baby blue and yellow

I tend to have different colours for different dresses so just go with what I like and not bothered by what's in

I bought a pair of bright pink Pumas last year which are super comfy though the best for my feet are my Reebok classics

I love these campus - where did you get them from?

They were from the Adidas outlet in Swindon

I think we have more colours than in the shop

Londonmummy66 · 24/02/2025 20:08

I have ridiculously high arches (the type that make getting boots and trainers on a bit of a work out). I run in Hokas so maybe try those for the gym as you also seem to get on with them (and they are pretty......). For walking around in summer I find Stan Smiths more comfortable than pretty well anything else.
