FatFace kids clothes gone- where to shop now.......

lezsucks · 09/02/2025 21:59

Found out today that FatFace are no longer doing childrens clothing. They were a wardrobe staple for my kids, particularly for quality hoodies and tops for my daughter. Where do I go now? They like generally practical clothing, like tops and hoodies, jeans / trousers. I use boden ( but they've gone a bit weird), used to buy joules but their range has also gone a bit odd. My 8 year old daughter likes pretty, practical clothing but HATES M&S range. Doesn't want cropped tops, doesn't do black clothes ( they are miserable mummy), but not too bright either. Ethically I'm not big into fast fashion, like things that last them well.
My son has lived in fat face shorts for the last 7 years, any ideas who does similar cargo shorts? Could generally get 2 seasons out of them, being worn continuously all summer.
And while I've got my own wee thread: Anyone know where does similar waterproofs to polarn o pyret as their waterproofs no longer go bigger than age 10.... Honestly I've got money to spend, just can't find where to clothe my children

Thanks is advance for any advice.

Nooo my daughter loved their denim shorts.
Boden has nice stuff and Vertbaudet - which is a lot cheaper

Eight8eight · 09/02/2025 22:01

Gutted, my son loves Fatface clothes!

I was about to say Polarn o pyret, for clothes but it sounds like you already shop with them!

Thank you, I've never used Vertbaudet there's some nice bits on there that DD would definitely like.
I used to buy a ton of boden but recently I've found their trousers hugely wide and not long enough (I may just have funny shaped children though).

Ive used them for years and recently I discovered they do some trousers in different waist sizes/slim fit etc but they’re still adjustable. Which works so well for my very tall and slim kids!

TheFlyingOrca · 09/02/2025 22:24

I'm sad about this too, I liked their children's clothes. I figured they'll still be getting put on Vinted for a while though, so I might stock up on there.

AnxiousRose · 09/02/2025 22:27

I was devastated about this too. Mango do some nice kids stuff.

VeryDeepEverything · 09/02/2025 22:29

SaltRock are similar vibe

Not sure how well they last as I'm trying them for first time this year.

I'm gutted about Fatface too, and also the same thing has happened with Landsend which were another go to place I would stock up on each year.

Why are these brands deserting childrens clothing!?

Maybe a bit surfy but salteock do t shirts and hoodie for kids with a similar vibe. Also Weird Fish, Crew Clothing .ountain Warehouse and Lazy Jack's.

lezsucks · 09/02/2025 22:36

Saltrock just isn't her, somehow fat face gave nice girly clothing but still practical. I always wonder why these brands don't promote their kids clothes a bit more. I hadn't thought of weird fish or lazy jacks, thanks

Abercrombie & Fitch?

Beebopwasthebest · 09/02/2025 23:09

Hari and the Gang for hoodies?

calmandcaffeinated · 09/02/2025 23:12

So gutted! Boden is great. Also Crew clothing have some nice kids stuff. Recently bought some lovely dungarees from Turtledove London for my DS.

daisydalrymple · 09/02/2025 23:21

I’ve always used Next alongside fatface and Boden.

SereneCapybara · 09/02/2025 23:23

Uniqlo for good quality basics. H&M and Zara used to be great for stylish kidswear. But Dc are grown up now, so I don't know if they still are. Worth checking out.

APurpleSquirrel · 09/02/2025 23:30

Have they actually confirmed they're not doing kids clothes anymore?
I was on the website yesterday & saw they were only listed on the Outlet section.
Try the outlet villages - was in the Clark's one in Street yesterday & they had stock but obviously not a range of styles/sizes.
Such a shame if they are stopping completely. I understand they've been bought by Next?

Bearhunt468 · 09/02/2025 23:34

Noooo I have a baby girl and I was looking forward to being able to buy practical but girly clothes from there when she is older. I may have brought a dress in their sale even though she can't wear it for 3 years cos I loved it! My son also loves their range. Such a shame they are stopping kids clothes!

Bearhunt468 · 09/02/2025 23:34

I've got some nice bits from mountain warehouse before for my kids too on a similar style and practically.

Blankscreen · 09/02/2025 23:47

Oh that's such a shame. I used buy all my dc's clothes there.

For hoodies you could look at le mieux which is an equestrian brand but great quality and similarish styles

WGACA · 10/02/2025 00:17

Fat Face on Vinted?

IdaGlossop · 10/02/2025 01:05

Lands End? Good quality. Great for skorts if DS is sporty. Boys' cargo pants look more expensive than they are.

Land end have stopped doing kids clothes. 😭

shuffleofftobuffalo · 10/02/2025 06:08

Uniqlo do some nice kids clothes these days, too basics.

H&M was always good at age 8

M&S too

Next have some decent quality kids clothes too.

lezsucks · 10/02/2025 07:13

I emailed Fatface yesterday and they confirmed no longer offering kids wear all year round to leave their teams free to work on adult range.

Oh that's such a shame. My kids are both kitted out in fatface. Although my son is just about growing out of it now.

I don't think anywhere else does quite as nice dresses.

Boden is a bit out my price range.

Thingamebobwotsit · 10/02/2025 07:22

Fatface have been bought out by Next. It might be worth looking to see if Next "backfill" the lack of range with other suppliers.
