Leather crossbody bag - but cool :)

Help me find a bag. I’m looking for a bag that will play the same role as my small mulberry lily (although could go a bit bigger).
I’m looking at something in the same price bracket ideally and a good quality brand, but maybe a little bit edgier?
I don’t want coach or Michael kors or Marc Jacobs … but am lost for ideally of other brands! Does anyone have any suggestions. I really like the style of this bag but would like to to be leather

Crossbody bag

Crikey apologies for humongous link Confused

I like this bag but it’s a red flag for me that none of their images show it as being worn crossbody, even though it is described as Crossbody.

That H&M bag is a dupe of the Acne Musubi bag, not sure if that's within budget. Otherwise Arket does/did a leather dupe that's not that different from the H&M one.

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz thanks hadnt thought of all saints. Think I prefer the Frankie style now I've looked on their website

Love the acne one. Added to short list. Is it a bit pricey but I'm working on the basis that it's an every day bag so will get lots of use...

Yuzefi Gyoza bag might be worth looking at too for something designer but about half the price of the Acne Musubi. Although might be worth holding out for the sales, Yuzefi bags always go on offer.

@FuckItItsFine I actually like the bag but associate Kate spade with someone who wears Kath Kidston or Boden which isnt the look I'm going for. Have I got that wrong?

@botemp thank you! Never heard of this brand before.

I’m not really sure, it maybe depends on the area you live in? I have a 30-year-old colleague who got one for her birthday and I was envious when she came into work with it. She has quite a cool style and it suits her. She wears wide leg cropped trousers and lovely knitwear with chunky boots.

I was a Mulberry devotee until the price shot up and designs got strange.

I have this in navy blue and it is great. I would prefer it to be lined bit it is decent for the price they do charge and honestly it has worn a lot better than Mulberry bags do these days.

Kate Spade definitely caters to a preppy audience but it doesn't mean that everyone that wears it automatically reads like that. KS tend to manufacture on the cheap though, primarily in Asia as most American designer brands do, so I tend to swerve them on those grounds. There was a scandal in the past with labour conditions in the factories they used.

Thanks.
I'm 40 and in Edinburgh if helpful.
I have loads of bags but sling on the mulberry one every day because it's easy! But I feel like I live in a puffer coat and that bag and it's making me feel like a 'school run mum' even though I don't have kids and could take the time to look at bit more 'styled' when leaving in the morning, was hoping a fresher looking bag would be a good start 🤷‍♀️
*this is not a dig at school mums!

My SIL has this bag from Deadly Ponies - NZ brand
The leather is so soft but the zips make it look different (can have open or shut)

Ooh these are lovely! I didn't need a new bag!

I am going in Jan to Edinburgh to make my own Harris tweed bag at the bag place. Do you not like those, they are stunning.

beetr00 · 23/12/2024 14:28

@mealdeal20 you could try Harvey Nicks.

Musubi

Queenofthejabs · 23/12/2024 14:29

I’ve this one coming for part of my Xmas, as I wanted something I can just sling on for my phone and a card. They do bigger cross body bags.

Just come on to write this exact same thing 😁

Peaceatlast01 · 23/12/2024 15:41

I’d suggest having a look at the following brands:

APC
Paris64
Polene
Strathberry
Demellier

I have bags from Paris64, Polene and Demellier and can vouch for their quality.
