What is the ultimate mascara? Humour me and tell me which one you would choose of the millions out there.

Maybelline sky high
or if you want fancy but does the same job the Hourglass tubing mascara is very similar - it’s more pricey but removes more easily

Yes this one. The waterproof version in black. The only mascara I've ever repeatedly bought.

crunchypeanutbutterontoast · 10/12/2024 21:31

Another vote for Hourglass tubing. It’s non smudge, gives my thin lashes some umph but not in a fake way - also comes off easily with warm water.

Jewelanemone · 10/12/2024 21:34

Another vote for Beauty Pie Wrap Star tubing mascara. Not one single under-eye smudge, even in the heat of Singapore (and Crete this summer).

GG1986 · 10/12/2024 21:39

Estee lauder double wear zero smudge. Amazing!

RosesAndHellebores · 10/12/2024 21:44

If I actually buy one Lancome Hypnose Drama.

I tend to buy a few Clinique, a few Estee, and a few Lancome products and survived on the mascaras from free gifts much of the time.

I haven't found that - maybe it's my age? It dries out in the tube really quickly, IMO. I use it to lengthen my lashes and then a cheap (like primark or maybelline!) alternative that builds volume. I read somewhere that as an older women (53), I should lengthen, then add a volume mascara. Does this help, OP?

DazedAndConfused321 · 10/12/2024 21:53

Anything Lancome. Never use anything else for mascara. Never clumpy, never too much product. Such smooth formula and it always smells nice.

Replace it every 3 months, even if it seems 'ok'.

EL doublewear tubing mascara

Doggymummar · 10/12/2024 21:58

Elf lock and roll. It's about a fiver and better than eny I have ever used, and I'm ancient.

Essence lash princess (the green writing one)

Whatshallwedohere · 10/12/2024 21:58

Maxfactor false lash effect, have been using for years and have tried so many high end mascaras but none compare

shizgigz · 10/12/2024 21:59

Lancôme seems a firm fave!

I’m a longtime Lancôme hypnose fan. Can you tell me how the Drama version differs? With age my lashes are getting a bit sparse so maybe I could do with some drama.

EucalyptusAndPeppermint · 10/12/2024 22:04

For all those that recommend Lancôme does it give a little bit of length too? My eyelashes are very sparse but I don’t like the the spiders legs look some mascaras give. Is it also waterproof?

I like the brush. It's as simple as that.

Definitelysometime · 10/12/2024 22:07

The regular Lancôme hypnose here too - and I've tried a lot of mascaras!

Sunraysunday · 10/12/2024 22:07

Chanel Noir Allure ⭐️

Obeseandashamed · 10/12/2024 22:10

Lancôme used to be great but I find it flakes these days. I love Dior iconic over curl. It's not too heavy but gives you an amazing lift with length.

I’ve been using benefit mascara for the last few years, “bad gal bang” and “rolller lash” are my favourites, about £26 each

I love the benefit they’re real one

Mozartinmyfanjo · 10/12/2024 22:21

Money no object? Sisley, so stretch. Went through Lancôme, Chanel, Dior, Hourglass etc, for my thin, long lashes nothing is better.
